24 Nov 2022 The Firsts | The Forerunners of Islam. Insya Allahu Ta'ala, The First 4 Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhumma Ajmain promised Jannah by Allah Azzawajal gracious mercy through His Rahmah and the blessed Syafa'at of Rasulullah SAW. Allahumma Ameen, Ya Allah.

Al- Bukhaariyy, Muslim and others narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: Indeed `Allaah does not take away the knowledge by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people. Rather `Allaah takes it away by the death of the religious scholars until no scholars remain among the people. The people then take as leaders ignorant individuals whom when asked give fatwaas (religious answers) without knowledge. Hence they are misguided and they misguide others. In the book Ar-Risaalah (The Message) by Abul-Qasim al-Qushayriyy, Imam Aliyy ibn abi Talib said: The question of ‘where’ [i.e. location] does not apply to the One who created the whereabouts. He said also: said: "Allaah existed and there was no place and He is now as He was" (ie without a place). Abu Hanifah, in his book Al-Fiqh Al-Absat said: Allaah’s existence is eternal and eternally place did not exist. His eternal existence was before creating the creation. He eternally exists and eternally there was no place or any other creation and He is the Creator of everything. The one who believe that God is in a place does not no His Creator and therefore is not a believer. `Al-Ghazaaliyy (D. 505 AH) said: The acts of worship are not valid unless you know the One Whom you worship. In Islam, we must always follow the great majority of the people of truth, who first and foremost are the companions of the Messenger of Allaah, their students (tabi’een), and the students of their students (tabi’ tabi’een). These are the three best generations in Islam and they were all united upon religious truth. The Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Verily, my nation will not unite upon misguidance. If you see differences, you must follow the great majority. And the great majority – more than a billion in our era- believes that God exists without a place! Repent, leave your wrong belief and utter the two testifications of faith to become muslim because you are not! Your belief is the wahhaabees belief, the belief of khawaarij and they are a minority no the majority!

recently ive been reading into Islamic history and i cant get past the Khilafah issue as its very confusing

Abu Bakr was the first Khalif.
Was he appointed as the first Khalif? Or was he chosen through Saqifa Banu Saidah?

After Abu Bakr, Umar ibn Al- Khattab was the second Khalif. Umar was appointed by Abu Bakr as Shiekh has mentioned.

My confusion is how was Abu Bakr chosen? Was he appointed? Was he elected? How come he appointed Umar and Umar wasnt elected following the same way as Abu Bakr?
