How Russia intended the invasion to go:

Before February 24: "LAUGHING IN RUSSIAN"

Now: "LAUGHING IN UKRAINIAN"

Besides the obvious failures by the Russians, this map didn't predict how the invasion would take place... Because it didn't account Putin's objectives: Kharkiv because of it's gas deposits was a primary objective, as the Capital, in order to force a quick surrender. The south, beside securing the north Crimean channel, was necessary to progress into Odessa and later Moldova. The Eastern part of the country was never the objective, since it was useful to keep it as a buffer zone between Russia and NATO, just as Belarus. In fact, Lukashenko pretty much leaked the Russian invasion plan with that presentation he did... But reality far exceeds planning in this case.

In reality: Russia tried to win on the cheap, relying principally on the militias of the Donbass republics to do too much of the heavy lifting. Only in October was a "partial mobilization" enacted, after the four regions of Lugansk, Donetz, Zaporozhia, and Kherson were incorporated into the RF following referenda. Greatly outnumbered Russian and allied forces preformed prodigies in gaining some territory, but had to give up some in August-September when NATO-trained Ukes and Nato specialists operating new equipment gave the Ukrainian side the opportunity to advance. Now that mobilized Russian troops are arriving at the front, the situation has stabilized. Attacks on the North Stream pipes and the Kerch Bridge were countered by significant successful Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, and it appears that the Russians have evolved a promising tactic of swarming Ukrainian SAM equipment near the front, which frees up Russian ground-support aircraft to make themselves felt. Russian artillery remains effective. Build-up in Belarus threatens a new front in the North. Russia does not yet control even the full territories of the newly-incorporated oblasts. One may surmise that remedying this embarrassment is high on the list for Russian planners, as are incorporation of Nikoleav, Odessa, city of Zaporozhia, and Kharkov. Removal of Zelensky regime at any time will help towards any comprehensive settlement. No NATO base at Odessa...

Don’t believe in russian propaganda anymore

It's end of August 2022 and with all of NATO supplying Ukraine the southeast is secured and repeated Kherson offensives by Ukraine have failed. Donbas amazingly and foolishly was reinforced with all of the troops required to hold any defensive line on Dnipr or further West. Nikolaev is under seige and so is Kharkiv. There has been no major move on Zaporozyhe or Dnipropetrovsk. But it is very likely that when Nikolaev falls and coastal defenses then are eliminated from the land side, the RU Navy will be free to support landings surrounding Odessa.

If mobilization occurs the large cities can be surrounded soon after the last Donbas fortresses. Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozyhe, Nikolaev is the first such line. Odessa next. Kiev will not fall so fast as it's reinforced. Unless Belarus moves on it.

I doubt Russia actually wants Naziland near Lviv and it has offered it to Poland repeatedly. When Poland tears Bandera statues down they will be attacked by the Nazis and NATO will be over. That's the true endgame.

Very accurate map with the operation ending around September. However, Kyiv was never in our objectives, so I don’t know if we will go all the way to the north. Plus, it’s a special military operation in which we are minimizing the civilian casualties as much as possible. So, the operation might end at the beginning of 2023 if we attack Kyiv again and this time, for real.

It's crazy you made this 20 days before the invasion

This would have happened if Putin sent in a full army and not a smaller "special operation" army. I still think Putin will be forced to delcare war back home and take Ukraine faster with use of his larger forces. Sadly I think this was will spread beyond Ukraine, Russia and Belarus to nations like Moldova and maybe Romania or Lithuania starting a global conflict this year

If Russia initially concentrated they attacks in the war they do in this scenario the present might have been really diferent

A good show. Predictions are hard and we assumed Russia wasn't going to half-ass a bunch of stuff like basic vehicle maintenance or use smaller forces to claim it wasn't a war.
