I don't know anymore about esims after watching your video than before
ОтветитьHow long is the phasing out of the nano sim going to take? Becease I wanted to buy one with huge storage, and use it for a long toime
ОтветитьI hate esim
ОтветитьI wonder can I use my smartphone AND 5G tablet with the same sim?
IF they both (or at least one) support eSIM, can I use it on both devices - it perfectly fine if only one can use it at a time - whichever registered latest on the network I guess.
I know I can make one device hot-spot and the other can connect thru wi-fi, but that's not optimal - as occasional network traffic on the hotspot-device can interrupt the internet on the other connected devices, it also drains the battery rather quickly etc...
If the two devices can support it I don't see why I have to use workarounds with compromises (and I'm definitely not paying for TWO mobile network plans for single person /me/) ... it seems to me that network providers are just lazy or pushing us to pay them unnecessary more :/
Physical sim is more secure and best for travellers
I'll buy my Samsung phone overseas if I must for duel sim slots. I've done it twice already importing european and chinese versions....honestly it was $200 cheaper than what a Samsung costs in my country....amazing!!!
One upside of the iSIM is that on-one will be dare to steal your phone do a hard software reset and sell your phone, instead they will now have to sell the phone as spare parts.
ОтветитьIntegrated sims just add another failure point that will render the device useless.
ОтветитьHere in the UK most contract phones are sim free, not sure about crApple though if they still sim lock to the first card you put in it.
Ответить449u485
Ответить😢
ОтветитьThis is one of those things that the EU needs to outlaw. There is no benefit to consumers in abandoning SIM cards. The excuse that 'it saves space' is just that--an excuse. The purpose is locking down phones to specific carriers, increasing both cost and e-waste.
Ответитьsoo we made the whole circle to nokia phones again
ОтветитьWhat grade of iPhones support eSIM?
ОтветитьHow many e sims can I have ?
ОтветитьHell naw, f**k isims.
Ответить30% of the video is add? ...cmooon...
ОтветитьApple's "innovations" is just removing more and more features from our phone while paying more for it, nice
ОтветитьSo if my phone dies and I want to switch to a new phone, now I will need to call my carrier so they can send me a QR code? I can't just switch the physical card that I own into another phone that I own without involving the subscription service provider? That's horrible, please don't ever buy a phone without a physical SIM card.
ОтветитьPoor Americans.
ОтветитьAsian Iphone - dual Sim
Western Iphone - no Sim because of there is no space
😂
No No NO. The biggest drawback is that carriers will do EVERYTHING in their power to NOT release the esim to be provisioned for other networks not their own. Its absolutely anti-consumer, and not because manufacturers and carriers won't support it, but because they're scrambling to support it as it lets them completely lock you in to their crappy services.
ОтветитьWait a minute. Who buys an extra sim when going on holiday abroad ? You just
a) Buy a roaming package from your current provider, that works abroad. or
b) Already have one prebuilt in your plan.
I don't understand why there must be a hardware component for a sim, why they don't make it just a software thing?
ОтветитьWhat's the big deal about super thin phones... how small are your pockets?
ОтветитьWhile the idea of esim is not bad the problem i See is the fact that it will remove the sd cards from the few phones that have them
ОтветитьWho paid LTT and Techquickie to not to mention the fact that eSIM and iSIM are first few steps to prevent consumers from selling and buying used phones by locking down the device to a network forcefully? This is beyond the SIM and service provider locks on current gen cellphones.
ОтветитьIm no expert on the subject, and this has probably been mentioned before, but won't this give the telcos better opportunity to go back to the days of locking the phone to their network only, and then have to pay a fee to get it unlocked?
ОтветитьI already feared that this would be some proprietary Apple bs.
ОтветитьIm sorry your sim is corrupt, you need a new phone
ОтветитьIf you have a see-through small empty prescription bottle that you washed out and it's dry, you have a waterproof (if you have the right kind) place to store the old SIM, and it's something that passes through customs easily.. todays worth it tidbit 😊
ОтветитьAh did you guys heard about roaming and e-sim does not have a fiscal device or chip they have a partition
ОтветитьE sim = government track and trace and voice and message recordings. No more privacy in certain countries.
ОтветитьYour welcome.
ОтветитьPirating SIMs will be a thing!
ОтветитьYes they def need the space that the physical sim takes… they need it to put a piece of plastic in place of it
ОтветитьAgain - the tech could make the product amazing. More space for CPU/battery/camera and less energy consumed by SIM card is great. But I bet there will be some incompatibilities so that phones bought today will not work after 10 years (now I can even use Nokia 3310 if my smartphone breaks for whatever reason). And sim locks will return.
ОтветитьWhy F would eSIMs be more expensive than physical SIMs?
ОтветитьCan we stop pretending that esims and isims are good and solve any problems. Make the phone slightly thicker, most people won't notice and you gain so much more battery life and space for other components than you would from removing a sim card.
ОтветитьI tried switching from an iPhone to an android, and both said support eSIM. My former mobile carrier would NOT recognize the eSIM IMEI. I went with a provider to get a physical SIM once again. People left and right having issues, I think people will raise backlash to bring this back. Way easier to switch a physical sim than eSIM.
ОтветитьIts all about watching what we do. They can stop or start any service when they want and frame people whenever and wherever they want.
ОтветитьWhat I find interesting is that in the US the Iphone 14 is eSim while the same phone uses a sim card in the EU. My Google Pixel supports both, how nice.
ОтветитьThe irony of this is that the no-sim iPhone didnt do jack with that space, theres just a plastic thingy in its place, go watch a disassembly youll see.
ОтветитьI greatly appreciate educational videos like this 👍🏻
ОтветитьWe all know this has nothing to do with saving space
ОтветитьThe best part of this video is the fact that it introduced me to airalo, because I see how much cheaper phone coverage can be when I travel. Been buying sims in the airport for way too much money
ОтветитьCan we PLEASE stop saying that carriers support esim? They dont. Not a single one on the planet. Noone. They support specific phone models with esim. And that is an enourmous difference. It means my perfectly fine device with modem cannot connect to the internet because not a single provider says they support it. They only support specific phone models. Cant we just ban this PoS garbage practise asap?
ОтветитьMy operator offers eSim only in their shops so if my phone dies I can never switch to another phone if I’m abroad, will probably have to call customer service (obviously from another phone). Esims and isims are bad for us customers!
Ответить
