Now check to see if your hinge is square. Unfortunately its a well reported paradox that the Kreg jig is out of alignment for the two screws so always use your square and a self centering drill bit to put those pilot holes in. The 35mm hole positioning works very well indeed, it's just those screws.

Anthony, It appeared you did not use the screws that came with the hinges. Can you explanation? I am also installing these hinges and am considering longer screws due to size and weight of my 48" high doors.

Excellent step by step instructions great. I went amd got a kreg wow what a difference. Spend the 49 for it. The kreg vivce grips are really pricey. 59 bucks for 1 u need 2 but worth it. I'm just a diy guy

Ok how do you match up the other hinge on the inside?

There are no manufacturer specs for my hinges and it was the only ones i could get my hands on. Now what? Guess i will just have to start on 3 and test the jig on scrap wood until i find something that works

I liked your step by step instructions in the installation of these hinges. A little constructive criticisms, your should have turned the clamps over, when clamping the jig in place, to keep from denting the face on the front of the door. Or use a scrap of plywood to minimize the impact. All-in-all a good video.

However, how do you precisely measure the heights of the other halves of the hidges that were already scerewed in the cabinet (at the end of the video, when you connect the hidges and put the door on)? I am replacing my old hinges with soft close. I’ve patched holes from old hinges. Do I need to change where I install new hinges? I’ve read about wood fillers, epoxy and putty, they all say you can drill them but they are not strong enough to hold cabinet doors. My old hinges were placed 3” from top and bottom, should I change measurement when installing new hinges so I’m not drilling into wood filler or epoxy?

i am having issues with the PVC doors that was just installed - soft close lap ones, what is the solution to ensure that the hinges hold onto the board. the screws come out

Thank you for this video. At my wife's request (of course ;-)) I am replacing flush mount (full inset partial wrap?) hinges with soft closing, concealed, mortise-type hinges (as you install in this video). Our cabinet doors have a routed hidden curve (grab edge) all around the edge. This means when looking at the cabinet straight on there's a 1/2" overlay but because of this routed grab edge the actual overlay is about 1/8". When measuring the overlay for a mortised soft-close hinge I suspect I should use the outside edge of the door; in other words the 1/2" since that is truly how far the door edge extends past the frame edge. Correct?

What size drill bit did you use to drill holes on both sides of the circle?
