This is something I learned when I learned how to work with hard gel and to wipe off one side of the brush so you only have product on the one side - that controls the polish better by ensuring you're not getting too much. Also push the brush up to the cuticle and make a little wall that will keep the polish from going over it and if you really want a picture perfect application use a detailer (liner) brush to paint near the cuticle and sidewalls and to even the product out by pulling some to where it isn't. 😊

Hey! I kind of have a question I guess, but it's hard to really show the context because what I'm wondering is how you get your fingers and nails to look like that... I'm mostly talking about the cuticles, the left and right sides of the nail, because my cuticles take up more space and tbh there's just this chasm between the cuticle and the flat part of the nail that is really difficult to paint without also getting polish on my cuticles... I usually use black polish and I might try using navy, but that's not a very forgiving color when it comes to having these blank sounds that look like gutters on a bowling lane of a fingernail... I do have cuticle trimmers and cream and stuff, but there's only so much I can really trim off before it bleeds... So usually, not too long after I get in a mood to do my nails, I just give up because It takes a lot of work to try to get runaway cuticles to behave, and because I don't do my nails very often, the polish peels off even if I try using better base coats, or no base coat, I still have a lot of chipping on the second day and one, with a specific combination of black nail polish with a layer of glitter on top, the entire coat of polish came off my fingernails in one piece... I don't know if anybody will see this who really has any answers, but I feel like I would really love to just always have black or navy nails, even if they were really short (I hate typing with long nails and I also want to get back into playing piano and guitar, so they need to be short for that too)... I really want to get into doing my nails, and kind of making it a normal part of my self-care routine, so that it becomes a regular aspect of my physical appearance my fashion sense, but my dang cuticles just won't give up. I see videos like this where a person's fingers and nails look like those silicon hand dummies used for nail art while over here I've got huge nails and huge cuticles that just stand out so much... I don't know what to do.

I wish more of the cheaper polishes came with nice broad brushes like the one in the video. I’ve got so many cute colours that I struggle to apply nicely because the brush is so tiny and thin that I can never get enough polish on it to cover the nail in only a few passes 😭

Only works for gel, right? I used lacquer and it always comes out "thick" and takes 24 hours to "dry"... it's a pain 😭 love that color btw!
