Oh my goodness, I didn’t just have a lightbulb moment at the beginning of this video but I was struck by lightning.
I have been preaching about getting relationship education and domestic abuse education into schools for so long. (I know, completely left field) And when I began watching this I thought ‘if it’s 100% self directed learning how would I incorporate this?’ And Peter’s first answer, answered not only the interviewer’s question but mine as well.
You don’t!
If the child doesn’t respect others then others won’t play with them! It’s so simple! They learn it young and if they go through their schooling at a democratic school they learn it often. All the way through until they’re in their late teens.
We have been schooling disrespect into people by telling our children we have to be nice, not to offend, and make sure to include everyone.
Wow! That is a massive eye opener.

Beautiful video. So sad that this is ignored by parents, teachers, and our public school system. I worked in public school and after only four short years I KNEW my children would never attend one.
