The Thundercats Reboot Never Had A Chance

I guess I'm in the minority, but I hated this reboot and was not sad to see it go. In my opinion it was thudercats in name only. The characters where not anything like the originals outside of the names. Thier history and lore was completely changed and rewritten. For all the liberties they took with it, they should have just made a new show with new characters. I hope they do a better job of actually respecting the source material the next time they try.

Was bad very bad

I am one who thought this reboot was incredible and far exceeded its source material. Cartoon Network kept messing with its timeslot bouncing it all over the place. IDK who were the ones that were complaining about the show, everything I was seeing, hearing, reading on social media people LOVED it.
IMHO the studio brass killed the show because it was too expensive, and used the excused of the the ratings dip (from bouncing the show around everywhere) as the reason to cancel it, opting go with the cheaper "Thundercats Go!" which was ridiculous and stupid.
My favorite two favorites that stick out in my mind are "Song of the Petalars" about the little forest people that only live for one day, and "Survival of the Fittest" we learned about the early lives of Wilykit and Wilykat, which was actually a sad episode.
And no, there will never be a movie, and it there is it will be dumb shenanigans with zero respect to the material or to the fans.

I really do think this show was ahead of its time. If something like this came out today, I think it’d be a smash hit

Technically it isn't a reboot since it told a new story rather than re-tell the original's story.
And, yes, it's a good show. A shame it didn't get the support it needed and deserved.

I just finished watching the show today with my friend who introduced me to it. I wasn’t really a fan of Thundercats until I saw this show. I was completely invested in the story and the characters and was looking forward to seeing the next episode. But when I got to the end and learned it was cancelled after a major cliffhanger I practically screamed in rage. It was soooo good. Why would anyone cancel it. This is Green Lantern the animated series all over again

It's a fucking travesty that this series was cancelled. This reboot was nothing but perfection. It was modern but still highly respectful of the source material.

Did they change Cheetara’s name? Dude pronounced it weird

It was a good story. I liked how all the animals had tribes and how the cats were looked down upon by other animals because of their history. It had a good thing going but I’d say fans killed it by not being loyal to it.

As a fan and lover of the original TC series, it wasn't the costumes that turned me off; it was the Dragon Ball-type storyline. Lion-O and Tygra always bicker and fight, having a love interest with Cheetara, SMH (Garbage storytelling). I got a headache watching this reboot, and most original fans felt the same way I did. As far as the newer generation, I talked to them in Discord, and most were not even interested in this cartoon because they didn't even know its premise. This cartoon failed because both generations lost interest due to a horrible rewriting of the story (They should have created a whole new Thundercat team if they wanted to anime it).

I'll never understand old fans being negative about a reimagining. It's not replacing the old stuff, that still exists for you to see anytime you want.

This reboot was amazing, I was gutted it got cut. It just came out at the wrong time I guess.

This was such a great reboot...loved it just as much as the original
