This isn't 1/08/72 its 11/08/72.
ОтветитьLove the format, smoking, professionalism, respect, set and impromptu dialogue instead of the fake talk shows we have today. Thank God for podcasts. 🇺🇸♟️❤️
ОтветитьPeople like fisher should find a smart woman and get lots of children, we need smart kids. Thankfully Elon Musk is doing that , he has 10 kids now, I hope he will go for 25 !
ОтветитьI don't think many people know how great this guy really Was a real genius as a chess player.
I play chess with my dad. When I was Little I learned from my dad. Who was a grandmaster I learned from him pretty good. I was not bad, but man, when you see how good Bobby Fisher was. , really unbelievable. The real Deal a real genius.
I like Bobby..
I dont't think it is appropriate to smoke while you have a guest on show. I know it is a casual talk but...
he was a genius. not only regarding chess, he saw through the lies of the world. they tried their best to shut him down
ОтветитьBobby was dead nervous. His entire arrogance act was only meant to hide his awkwardness. He was troubled because he knew something was wrong with him.
ОтветитьBobby Fischer became the global public figure he did at a time of entrenched Cold War doctrines. The geo-political chess board was at a stalemate. Fischer instantly became much more than a key pawn in this match. He was a knight with his own hue of shining armour. The Kings and Queens of Pax America were very happy to hold court with their knight on what the future might bring. Sadly; Bobby Fischer would not go on to make the moves required of him and thus he had to sacrificed.
Known now forever as "The Fischer Gambit", the move that should never be made against strongly worded advice on the importance of loyalty towards King and Country.
The GOAT of chess Bobby Fischer
ОтветитьOld school TV shows are just unforgettable.
ОтветитьI wonder if Suzanne Pleshette realized the historical moment she was in?
ОтветитьFischer Sir has answered all the doubts or questions anyone could have about his sanity,
From why he asked to move the World Championship Games away from Cameramen disturbance to How he think he is late in chess community as it is being played almost for 100 years... This guy was not erratic if he was Spassky Sir would not have gone in Japanese jail to play and soothe him... Problem was he was Anti-Semitic, He saw things which Government wanted to hide and he spoke them on Camera... And eventually that led to his downfall by his own country where he was born.... I respect this man ... He should have been saved at all cost... In the search of Gold we lost a Diamond... The Pawn Grabber.. The Remarkable Genius... A lonely soul who needed some love.. I wish someone saw that in him...
You will be Remembered Sir not for 30 years but for generations to come... Peace out...
He had 181 IQ.
ОтветитьOriginal airdate is wrong, 1/8/72 was way before the match started. The match started in July of 1972.
ОтветитьBoris Spasky unable play against a crying child but real winner is Boris Spasky greatest gesture
ОтветитьJohnny Carson was arguably the best talk show host ever. Welcoming, congenial, well informed about his guests, and a great sense of humor. Remember watching his show as a kid. Simply brilliant.
ОтветитьOh how I Miss Johnny Carson .
Ответитьestaban re duros jajjajjja
Ответить🌞🧸✨💜...🔥🙏
ОтветитьBut not recognised by the so called greatest nation on earth, regrettably !. Just irrelevant.
ОтветитьI have a serious question. How many games did bobby fisher loose actually? Would be interesting..I mean in his professional career
ОтветитьAMAZING
ОтветитьWow. I never knew talk shows used to feature intelligent conversation, and weren't always just nonsensical like they are today. Brilliant!
ОтветитьThe best ever !
ОтветитьI'm sure Bobby would be still the number one today. He was a genuis.
ОтветитьHe is bobby the great fischer
ОтветитьI think this is the best Bobby Fischer ever had.
ОтветитьHis chess games blow my mind. They are pure joy to study .
ОтветитьSlide puzzles arent even complicated.
ОтветитьGod Bless Bobby and Johnny, the humor out of Johnny during the 15 puzzle segment was was priceless. No matter how many times, I watch this I end up with belly laughs!!!:-)
ОтветитьAs unfortunate as Bobby Fisher's last years were, his rise as a prodigy of chess contending against Russia's elite players is worth documenting. Perhaps a film would suffice, showcasing the challenges in his professional career as he became a dominant force within the game.
Ответить"True genuis" is a shackle in my opinion. Can you imagine the level of OCD Fischer had?? You can already see the curse of unfulfilment closing in on him. Just 3 years after this episode aired, Fischer would become a complete recluse for the next 20 years!
ОтветитьGreat interview, one that I have been trying to see for awhile. It is good to see that other comments give credit to Johnny for his skill in his craft. I counted 22 seconds on the 15 puzzle, but that is beside the point. Sadly, this moment could have been the pinnacle of Bobby's success.
ОтветитьCarson was seriously seriously good at hosting a talk show. Unmatched in versatility.
ОтветитьSick o.
ОтветитьSeems like Bobby doesn't have that American face cut. It alleged that his mother cheated her husband with some Hungarian colleague of her and Bobby was that Hungarian's child. At the first glance Bobby looks like a man from the Slavic states.
ОтветитьThe difference between late night shows of today and then - shows like Dick Cavett and Carson aimed to entertain by educating the audience. Shows today just want to a reaction, hence the lack of intelligent questions.
ОтветитьThis is the guy that went nuts
Ответитьthey used to smoke during the tv show!
Ответитьthese 2 legends both Genius masters of there craft!
ОтветитьFischer Is the Greatest ever
ОтветитьCrazy this was over half a century ago.
Ответить❤😂
Ответитьi didn't expect his ego to be that big tbqh.
