too bad LRIT was turned off... an opportunity missed, and not a good sign to all of those who want to learn about the global weather and space engineering, arguably the most important topics of our time, with first hand experience.

Would love to have LRIT from this satellite! Many people in Europe feel like they are left out compared to areas which are covered by operational GOES satellites or GK-2A and etc.

A shame there's no LRIT service anymore... Many amateurs just want to have fun writing decoders and getting even the smallest amount of data by themselves learning a lot about satellites, how their downlinks work and everything. After all we don't mind METEOR-M 2's very unstable LRPT or MetOp-A's partial AHRPT coverage (even is quite fun to see it turning off)!
Actually, aren't those antennas shown L-Band mostly? Where are those covering the 25Ghz (I think) downlink?
