First drive ever- rFactor 2

It was about time!

Ah man, I’m looking forward to some potential setup guides because I’ve invested 5 hours into the title so far and none of that has actually been driving time. It’s all be settings and just trying to get the title to work.

tested today with recommanded fanatec settings csl dd 8nm
ive found it absolutly disgusting to drive, i can 180d throttle a bmw m2 like its an f1 ? is it for real ?
ive played ACC 400h / AC 100h & iracing since august
theres no road connection, an emulate rear with ffb dont even knowing what to do, seems to load front (?) even then corners came blend, oversteer understeer? can i get chassis or wheels smth plz lol ?

ISI who made rFactor made one of my all time fav games, Sportscar GT! Played that game so much, then they made the F1 2000, F1 2001 and then the total masterpiece F1 99-02, which I still think is the best F1 sim. Have not tried rFactor2, but I will since ive heard a lot of praise for it :) edit : loL! I thought you were driving in VR and I thought the interiour looked realistic as hell haha :D now I see you have a actioncam on you :) cool!.

I aspire to have a sim rig as detailed as this; however, I would go more of a street car route. The plan is to have a basement (that you can enter from the garage, not trying to carry the damn thing down the stairs! Haha) big enough to fit a junkyard cavalier or something.

Hey sir..one question. Do you drive with the helpers off? Or tc on..anything else? Just bought the game because of this video..and its rly hard to drive..undrivebel without helpers. And can you pls share your ffb settings 4 rf2

I tried rfactor 2 based on this video and omfg it was 5 hours of pure torture.
I'm running fanatec dd pro with the formula 2.5 wheel and v3 pedals and out of the 7 hours total of me trying to get this POS game to recognize the hardware, I got maybe 2 hours around Sebring. Those 2 hours were great and the physics felt amazing but, I'm not the kind of person (masochist) who can spend hours upon hours each time starting a game up to get my gear recognized and working correctly with the game. I'll just stick with my ACC and be bored to tears rather than sit and torture myself for half a day and then be in too much physical pain to actually play the game I set out to play.

Man, good that you finally tried RF2! From RF2, ACC and iRacing it's definitely my most favourite sim. It's a solid sim! You want to really feel home? Please try a wet race! 😍🤩 Races with live wet weather (not scripted) are on another level and my most favourite ones!

sick setup and sick driving, following youre channel because im still trying to make a decision for my next wheel base but im still lost atm. haha simucube or simagic im still a bit lost hahaha

The FOV is too big? The Dashboard appears way too big. Other than that. Rfactor2 ist the best. Dont use any other Sim.

4000 hours in rf2. Nothing beats the beast.

hi, i'm an italian driver, and thanks to you i chose alpha ultimate! i have yet to try. I run on RF2 and now I have a fanatec csw2.5 belt driven steering wheel waiting for simagic. I first ran Acc then tried RF2 and was hooked. incredible sensations as you explained. some crash problems but the sensations it gives you are unique. I hope alpha ultimate arrives soon. your reviews are great! HI

Rfactor 2 has something most sims do not which is SOP seat of the pants feeling. That feeling you get when moving fast in a car irl and I love RF2 just for that but the physics are amazing. Such a shame the way the multi player model works. If you want to join a race on say LFM GT3 races you need to own all the cars on track. It doesn't matter if you have the car you want to drive you have to buy all the cars in that race. This is what keeps me away from LFM RF2

Wow, I didn't realize you had never driven rF2! I just figured you were another hater haha. Glad you are enjoying it! I don't think the graphics are bad myself and S397 has improved them a ton in the last couple of years. Hopefully you're using the DLC tracks, they are quite well done. To folks stumbling in here that are new or thinking about trying rF2, S397 is working on a revamped multiplayer system called RaceControl that is starting alpha testing shortly. Sounds like it will be a significant revamp.

What car pack did you use ?

What a great setup! It's compensating the only graphic quirk that i miss on rFacto2 compared to ACC on AMS2, and that's moving cockpit parts.
So instead of asking devs, to upgrade this, I should build look at my rig first;)

I love that BMW M4 Class 1 car. Glad you finally discovered rF2. Nothing else gives that same feeling of being on track. It's really weird how many people stick to only ACC and iRacing and are obvlivious. Such as Boosted Media who will review all the very best DD wheels, but then not compare in the best sim. It's interesting to see how other games work, but just as Simucube is the benchmark for DD wheels, rFactor 2 is the benchmark for sim physics.

Still the best sim rig I have ever seen bro. I watched this video on TV with my son, he was amazed by your driving and your sim rig. He can't believe it's a sim rig not a real race car.❤❤

*Casually driving rF2 for the first time to the limit = "It's a sim.. it just works".

*Driving iRacing after not doing it for two weeks = "Oh #!&%, I'm losing control. I'm so rusty.. Oh.. it's a learning curve you know".

iRacing is a ***** joke.

I hear the driving is good but I'm curious about the community and how good the actual online racing is.

I love rFactor2. I got it during a break from ACC and was amazed at the audio difference and the way the cars drive.

I have to say the graphics are really good only for latest DLC cars and tracks. In VR beats most other games for me. Especially during sunrise and rain.

Rf2 is definitely ahead of the curve when it comes to physics.

I wish I could try rF2. But the game is nothing but trouble for me. My old pc was to weak for it. Finally upgraded, also upgraded to a t300 with t-lcm and th8a and now the game won't recognize any of my gear. But good to see you have fun on it! Love your content!

rF2: I have more than twice the hours on it than on ACC, RRR & AMS2 combined. Congrats, you are the FIRST major YT sim racing fan who does not bash rF2 for it's UI. Yes, the graphics could be better and blah-blah-blah. Other sims have their issues as well, but there was a concerted effort by some YT reviewers to bring rF2 down at any cost. It was so obvious...at any rate: Get a car to your liking and try (you have to!!!) Mugello & Road Atlanta. You're gonna love it. Cheers.
