I checked with my local funeral home and they were delighted to take my used makeup.

Thank you for sharing. You always motivate me. I told my friend about your channel and your ideas have helped her declutter a lot. She really enjoys watching your channel. It is true that the less to maintain the better. It takes time to get there but I have made so many improvements. I am so glad too. It is easy to get sucked into getting more and more. Then later you say why did I buy this or that. Just get rid of it. Many times we really do not miss it if we did not use it or really like it. We learn to make due. Honestly we do. Thank you Dawn.

When I first got married in 1975, the only things we had were things given to us by others. I look back at old pictures of that time and realized that it really was a more peaceful time with fewer possessions, plus we valued every single piece that much more. Today, my house full of blessings is in dire need of simplification. Who would have ever thought??

I use a LOT of containers as I bulk cook and freeze. But I have rectangular ovenproof glass containers with bamboo tops for meal portions, upright plastic tubs for soups and stews and rectangular plastic tubs for leftovers. Because they are all so distinctive, I can stack them with the lids off, and they only take up one shelf instead of four. So if you need a lot of containers for bulk cooking, make sure they're all the same and you don't have to store with the lid on!

I label my cords and electronics color coded with tape. So what it is, I tape match. Because I have a lot of different tape, I wrap the tape somewhere on the cord, and then place a small piece of tape on the electronic item it goes to. If I run out of tape, i use the same tape for items with different insert plugs, to keep the difference. I also suggest if you don’t have tape, use clear tape and place the same colored small piece of paper(that only fits between the tape) wrap cord and match with device. It’s a game changer. And please feel free to do a video of this tip, your more than welcome. It helps with the kids keeping up with their own cord and knowing who-who’s who’s cord for what objects. Your videos has helped me to get motivated to declutter, thank you!!!!

I refuse to get a Stanley cup, partly because they are overrated and also because of unnecessary obsession with it. Hopefully all of these people buying the Stanley cups will cut down on their use of single use plastic water bottles. 🙏🏽

Love your tips Dawn! I have always hated clutter and never knew why. And now I am going back over my closets, cupboards and pantry. You are right - 2nd, 3rd and 4th passes get easier and easier. You just want to keep letting go so you can see it all, have less to manage, etc. 😊

I would love to be able to implement the concept of 1 minute decluttering, but I really struggle with it. My personality is very much all or nothing. I feel that if I can’t do it correctly (as in the whole area/section), then I’m not going to do it at all. Watching Cas’ explanation of my organizational style has really helped, but I hope to be able to get to 1 minute decluttering.

Dawn, do you donate to shelters, women's support places, or organizations that support people who are just getting on their feet again the items you are decluttering that you don't need but others can pick off a shelf as needed in the organization's free for the using? It pains me to see so many things just go in the garbage when it still usable, perhaps unopened even. It seems so wrong to just throw away. Just wondering. Because I am inspired to do the 30 areas in 30 min. and I know I probably will run across things that I clearly know other organizations, or shelter pantry's etc. that serve those in need. I like to have a box or basket handy to toss the things in I don't need, and when I am going that direction, I can drop it off.
