What are your favorite Live 12 features? Anything you wish was there?
Ответитьwhy are we acting like this isn't the worst update ableton has ever put out
ОтветитьDANG. im getting the update for sure after watching this video. i really hope i can turn off the momentary properties of those shortcuts though...
ОтветитьVery interesting but you move from one subject to another so quickly that it is very difficult to follow you. For example you could have spend one more minute to explain the new latency feature. I didn't understand how it works with your example.
ОтветитьThis is amazing
ОтветитьThanks Brian - excellent!
ОтветитьHow's the cpu?
ОтветитьDefinite upgrade. I hope I can get it sometime.
ОтветитьLoads to love but a few are like one step fwd two steps back
ОтветитьGreat video! You’ve shown me some things that make me want to upgrade now! Thanks. 🙏🏿
ОтветитьMaster renamed to Main. Ugh. Massive facepalm.
ОтветитьGood breakdown Brian. I wish it could create stems from an audio track like most dj software. EG separate vocals, bass, drums etc
Ответитьdid they upgrade the amount of sends you can do,or its still only 12 sends?
ОтветитьJust away to try out, 1st one could be done with @elisabethhomeland quality max4live tools , but good video, inspired me to fire it up. x
ОтветитьI hope the Push 3 will allow for more SSD storage space and CPU power in the future!
Ответитьexcellent
Ответитьthe biggest for me is the first one, the latency fix. By far the biggest, the others just cool updates
ОтветитьI can't believe they finally added bounce-in-place. This definitely makes arranging much faster
ОтветитьHow is number 1 not ON by default? Or there is some catch about it? Because that latency was driving me nuts during guitar recording
ОтветитьWAVEFORM ZOOM FINALLY! sweet jebus, like 10 years late.
ОтветитьI just hope cpu usage is better than 11
Ответитьdang them getting rid of key commands for the view options is a bummer. though there should be a way to route this in the mac settings if my thinking is correct. its a little janky but you basically just tell mac to use xyz key command in only that application in order to enable certain menu items which is where those controls have now moved.
ОтветитьGreat Video Mr. Funk! Thank you! Keep Playin' that Funky Music White Boy!!
ОтветитьJust what I was looking for. No nonsense, no BS.
ОтветитьKiller…! Great video. Hey - anything new for the Push 2? Not ready to upgrade just yet…gotta buy v12 first lol
ОтветитьSo is there a good reason to have the “keep latency” setting on ever?
Ответить200 euros from an update? hahahahahaha !!! no thanks
ОтветитьBounce in Place, fucking finally.
ОтветитьBounce in place is great. I hate resampling all the time and it only does it in stereo then you have to bounce it out in mono. I’m probably doing it the hard way but this is great
ОтветитьCant beleive this is the first Ableton 12 video that mentions the freeze and flatten feature!!!
ОтветитьThis as an awesome video, thanks @brianfunkmusic ! 12 looks like an amazing update, but there’s one feature you covered which (for my workflow) seems like it will be a huge drawback. Talking about Momentary Shortcuts. When I switch to automation mode or hit tab to switch views, I generally want to be there much longer than I’d want to hold the shortcut key down. Is there a command which keeps the shortcuts as Toggle instead of Momentary? Thanks!
ОтветитьI wasn't that excited about Live 12 until I watched this video! These are the ACTUAL changes that I will use daily that will make a solid impact on my workflow and mitigate my laziness towards making certain creative decisions. So many of the other videos out there highlight these strange new features like midi generation that I find to be completely useless. THANK YOU.
ОтветитьI love Live but I'm seriously wondering why under any circumstance you would crave latency. Glad it's out now but honestly kinda ridiculous that this is a new feature. Great video!
ОтветитьFantasic Vid! One of my long requested features came true, having Return presets. I like ALLOT of different verbs, so being able to reach for one with my preferred settings is a boon. Also, thank you for all the little things that are not front and center, it's really nice to see all the little things.
ОтветитьThese adjustments are great and all, I just wish it didn't require us to pay near $200 for an update that could've been pushed....
ОтветитьAnd here I am, just hoping Ableton implements a decibel readout while moving the fader so I don't have to look in the bottom left corner to see the adjustment eyeroll
ОтветитьGreat vid mate! It's really refreshing to see somebody actually talking day to day about what its actually going to be available in Live 12. There's a LOT of hate going round which helps nobody.
I noticed on the similar sound feature, the browser only shows .adv files or .adg files. Is that due to the metadata contained on proprietary files allows for this but .wavs etc won't potentially hold the requisite information or is it an algorithm that scans the timbre of the sound, and you have filtered the file type?
Just curious
Awesome video, can’t wait to get stuck in! … waiting to get access but no emails yet 😢😂
ОтветитьHave they added a trim silence function?
ОтветитьIt's pretty funny that this new version has "Humanize" which is to add a degree of sloppiness. I think there's an insult in there some where! 🤣
ОтветитьJust saw the keep latency switch and that is the thing i needed the most for live tracking!!!
ОтветитьI remember one of the devs aggressively defending Master against the suggestion to change it on Centercode. I wonder what changed.
ОтветитьBrilliant video Brian 🔥🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьCool observation re bounce in place. How does the time taken for this single action compare to that taken for freeze + flatten in Live 11 on your machine?
ОтветитьThank you !!
ОтветитьOutstanding. One thing I admire is Brian Funk's calm. Ableton is complicated and new, unfamiliar features, more so. The fact that he seems to understand (everything) is for me, a plus. It means I can get there, too.
Some good features, some 'meh,' and some bad moves - Master Channel is fine, how is changing the name to 'main' of use to anyone? Don't like the new BPM scheme - though for years I was used to typing in the BPM manually, so no real harm/foul. The latency feature is great.
Since we look at .wav forms ALL DAY in Ableton, this simple request - which should be free - may seem superflous to some, not me. Improve the appearance of the waves. I have a DJ friend and am envious of the gorgeous, inspiring appearance of the wave forms in Tractor. Since waves are our 'currency' we may as well look at something attractive and inspiring.
Thanks, none of the other commentary has mentioned any of these great features. You've swayed me towards the upgrade!
ОтветитьI liked being able to see bpm and time signature on each track in the arr view. Hopefully that comes back as an option.
Ответитьman the public beta taking forever. longer than 11 or 10..
