Am I the only Arsenal fan who is not a big fan of Martinelli? Martinelli does not offer anything other than pace which in case of Arsenal doesn’t help much because most of the teams form a low block providing no space. he can’t dribble or take one on one with defenders. Most of the teams park the bus in front of Arsenal and keep a low block and that’s where Martinelli gets found out. You will see he always passes the ball back against strong defence. Trossard does much better.

Another thing Arteta brought him in for is he is aggressive and immensely good at intercepting passes by stepping up in front of the receiving player or taking it off the receiving player right after they get it. Arteta wants to keep the ball in the opponents half and I think Calafiori will be a big part of that. Also..imagine possibly Partey at the 6 and Rice as an 8...it will be very hard for some teams to be able to get the ball out.

Not wanting to be biased, I watched this guy play and kept thinking this guy is a carbon copy of Paolo Maldini.

Went back and watched, and seriously, it's eerie how similar those two play. Obviously, no one is saying he's the new Maldini, but I can understand why the Italians en masse were pissed he's leaving Italy. 😂❤
