The descriptor is very wrong as it states King George IV. However, King George IV died in 1830. It was George VI who was the King at the time.

Not for nothing did Hitler call The Queen Mother 'The most dangerous woman in Europe'. After Buckingham Palace was first bombed her immediate reaction was to say "Now I can look Londoners in the eye!"

The voice change is amazing.

This reading gives a particularly candid view into thew personality of Queen Elizabeth. While I am not familiar with the Royal Family, I find it interesting that someone born of such privilege and status would be so concerned over the health and safety of those who perform everyday tasks. It would have been all too expected to hear a correspondence where the servants were never even mentioned, and this would have been considered normal.

Im not sure why ppl are laughing during the description of some of these details which must have been terrifying for everyone at the time.

The letter was not for publication, so its contents is sincere and engaged. Olivia Colman, not surprisingly, read it as though the author herself was on stage. LOVELY!
