She has the perfect voice. The queen had such a distinct accent. Perfect.
ОтветитьWhy are people laughing. . . . . . . ?
The most dangerous woman in Europe "....So sorry 😊
ОтветитьThe descriptor is very wrong as it states King George IV. However, King George IV died in 1830. It was George VI who was the King at the time.
ОтветитьShe does a FLAWLESS House of Windsor accent!
ОтветитьMs. Colman is magnificent. Nothing else needs to be said of her.
ОтветитьBrilliant!National treasure!
ОтветитьNot for nothing did Hitler call The Queen Mother 'The most dangerous woman in Europe'. After Buckingham Palace was first bombed her immediate reaction was to say "Now I can look Londoners in the eye!"
ОтветитьThe voice change is amazing.
ОтветитьThis reading gives a particularly candid view into thew personality of Queen Elizabeth. While I am not familiar with the Royal Family, I find it interesting that someone born of such privilege and status would be so concerned over the health and safety of those who perform everyday tasks. It would have been all too expected to hear a correspondence where the servants were never even mentioned, and this would have been considered normal.
ОтветитьIm not sure why ppl are laughing during the description of some of these details which must have been terrifying for everyone at the time.
Olivia is a treasure.
When did George IV reign? George VI was monarch in 1940.
ОтветитьThis is inarguably the finest tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II (before she died). It shows that, above all else, she was humane, caring, empathic, brave, and, funny. The letter was not for publication, so its contents is sincere and engaged. Olivia Colman, not surprisingly, read it as though the author herself was on stage. LOVELY!
Ответитьhow terrible for her to survive the atrocities of WWII and decades later have her reign end with meghan markle waging her own narcissistic war
ОтветитьOlivia does such a marvelous posh accent.
ОтветитьWhat were the laughers thinking, is a mistery.
ОтветитьWhy does she call herself "daughter in law" when writing to her mother?????
ОтветитьThat women was as clueless a her daughter
ОтветитьOh so beautiful.
ОтветитьBeautifully read. As much as everyone revered the queen, Brits never take themselves too seriously. The humor she found in the letter only emphasized the love they feel for their dearest queen! Beautiful historical piece.
Ответить“Ah a German aka my husband.”
ОтветитьSo much laughing…. It’s not supposed to be funny.
Ответитьi have no idea why this idiotic audience was laughing throughout it.
ОтветитьThis audience laughs at such inappropriate times.
ОтветитьCAN ANYONE ; KINDLY; EXPLAIN TO ME; WHY THE PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING ?!
ОтветитьI don’t understand all the laughter. How shallow!
Ответитьwonderfully done by Olivia Colman
ОтветитьFrance WILL rise again !
Ответитьthey should teach this in schools, to the teachers as much as the children
ОтветитьI am a great adorer of England..... as a German I can say.... we are so similar.... it was a tragedy that Anglo-Saxons fought against Saxons we are one tribe despite all that harm..
ОтветитьHad unfortunately forgotten that Queen Elizabeth the second's mother's name was also Elizabeth until I googled, and was therefore most confused by the description of the video for a few hours. Lovely.
ОтветитьIt’s wonderful to hear the queen talking about her beloved subjects saying she’d rather be bombed herself than see it happen to her people ❤ one of the greatest monarchs to ever live
ОтветитьI just love Olivia Colman. She is such a sweetie.
ОтветитьWith Putin’s war in Ukraine (and more recently Russia itself) ongoing, the realities of war don’t change. 😢
Ответить"Ah, a German."
ОтветитьThe monarchy survived in the UK in the 20th century only because of the talents and service of two strong women: Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II
ОтветитьCan’t act and can’t mimic the speech of one of the most recognised voices in the world.
ОтветитьTREACHEROUS FMILY OF NAZIS AND PEDOPHILES... TIME FOR ACTORS TO STOP SELLING THEIR SOULS TO SHINE SHIT AND IN DOING SO AID CRIMINALS WHO BASICALLY SLAUGHTER CHILDREN AND EAT THEM... How impressed your Mother must be love...
ОтветитьAbsolutely wonderful!
ОтветитьQueen mum was the quintessential NANA !!!
ОтветитьTo be fair, after watching too much of 'The Crown' in a row lately I am thoroughly enjoying all these letters read by Colman, time to find some moreeee
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful letter
ОтветитьYou never cease to entertain and amaze 😂
ОтветитьThis says everything about the royals. How could she say she could look the East end in the face because one of her wings at buck house was hit when the East end was DECIMATED. Out of touch and entitled. What is worse nothing has changed
ОтветитьOlivia Coleman. From Mitchell and Webb and Peep Show, to the queens of England. Always great.
ОтветитьBrilliant as ever.
ОтветитьThat's the fastest 5 minutes ever.
