Creating a Hollow Knight-inspired Enemy AI in Unity 2D

In this video, I show you how to create an enemy AI inspired by the Gruzzer from Hollow Knight using Unity 2D. This is a remake of an older video of mine where I made the same enemy with updated information and a GitHub repository for easy access.

In the video, I explain how the Gruzzer enemy AI moves in a certain direction at a certain angle, flips when it bumps into a wall, and changes direction when it bumps into the roof or the ground. I also demonstrate how to set up the groundCheck, topCheck, and rightCheck boxes to detect collisions with the ground, roof, and right side of the screen.

You will also learn how to adjust the speed and direction of the enemy AI using the move direction value, how to drag and drop your roof and ground check game objects to set their size properly for proper detection, and how to set the ground and platform layer accordingly.

I provide the code for the enemy AI, explaining the values in the inspector, the hit logic, and how the flip function, change Y direction function, and not going up function work. Finally, I share some tips, such as setting freeze rotation as true, to avoid the enemy tumbling.
