Any good smart locks that don't require you to fiddle with the internal mechanisms?
Something for renters?
This is a really good video. A lot of interesting ideas. But I just can't reconcile having a toaster stuck to the side of my front door. That thing is simply too too big
ОтветитьLife is like a box of chocolates, you're never going to know what functionality means you're going to need a proprietary hub!
ОтветитьHappy Sunday Brian, seems to be a great retrofit lock which has one major drawback for me. The huge button to unlock it, as you showed it can be deactivated, but it would be my preferred option to unlock it myself from inside. But the size of the button is not pet friendly Dogs are going to get excited when someone approaches the door and if they jump against it the lock will open (maybe some 3D printed cover would help with a smaller finger sized hole in the middle). Would prefer some option that the lock knows no one is home and disables this button during that time. Maybe on a routine I could set to have it disable during the hours everyone is out to work.
ОтветитьI pre ordered this lock and key pad and out of all the smart locks i'v owned wich is 3 this is by far the best and my favorite I love this lock highly recconend
ОтветитьLove the video as always. Is there a lock that would work with a mutipoint lock in the UK (the type where you have to lift the doorhandle before you can lock the door)?
ОтветитьSure looks huge and clunky.
ОтветитьI've had this lock since last Tuesday and I really like it. I love all the unlock options with the keypad. As for the design, I think it looks quite nice from the front facing point of view. I was put off by the bulk too when it was first announced. But after having it for a while, it honestly doesn't bother me.
Not everyone can get over the brick design though. But if you want to get technical I could argue that it's a benefit because it reduces the travel time to manually lock or unlock 😆
Thanks Brian.
ОтветитьTo avoid frequent battery replacements, would there be a way to power over Ethernet with a cable through the door hinge side, with batteries for backup if burglars shut down power?
ОтветитьSwitchbot should move that "Send Warning Alert via SMS and Email" feature from the keypad and put it in a standalone button. Then people could put them in their homes, carsm maybe on their person to send a notice for help anywhere. I'd buy a half dozen and give them to family members. Just don't need another lock to get that feature.
Ответить2 different types of batteries required? You can use rechargeable batteries in the lock but not the keypad....weird.
AAs in the lock is strange as you would think that the lock would need more power to work than the keypad.
I enjoyed the video but will NEVER implement an automated door lock. I refuse to let a machine control my perimeter security. Thankfully, I have no need to even consider one.
ОтветитьNice door locks.
ОтветитьIt have automatic open when i get home with GPS?
