Thanks for this discussion. Can you explain to me simply how much the cross hair moves inside the scope for 1 MOA? I know it moves on the target approximately 1 inch per 100 yds but how much inside the scope? 1/60th of an inch? Just curious. Thanks

I just wanted an inexpensive scope to try on an air rifle. This is a nice scope for a nice price. I am happy with it.

Jip, agree with the other viewers ! Clear, to the point, no time wasted and a great overview to summarize a scope's working inside. Thank you !!

I want to know the science behind why vortex scopes do not track well and do not hold zero.

Beautiful explanations, about 37 years ago I saw my friend brother open his rifles scope to dry and clean it.. i saw the reticle of this scope was a tiny copper wire placed directly behind the eyepiece.. No vacuum or filling the scope with Argon or Nitrogen gas, for that reason always the lenses was blurry in the cold & warm environment..

I think you got the first and second focal plane mixed up. With what the reticle does on changing magnification. In first focal plane scopes the reticle does not change size with increased magnification. Second focal plane scopes the reticle size changes with the magnification. Manufacturers, specify that you must use maximum magnification for the correct use of mil dot reticles.
The military normally favours scopes in the first focal plane. Because magnification doesn’t change the reticle size. Cheers
