ОтветитьHe lost me when he said rap didnt exist until Sugar Hill Gang in 1979. Turned it right off. Next.
ОтветитьI was born in 94. Good year lol.
Ответить1994 was an amazing year for rap, Illmatic, The diary, The main ingredient, resurrection,Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik,The sun rises in the east, Regulate... G funk era, 6 feet deep, tical, funkdafied, etc. Probably the best year for rap ever
ОтветитьArt💚
ОтветитьPeter Rosenberg doesn’t even like Nas..
ОтветитьPete Rock alignment is right was perfect with Nasir. Thank you for the collaboration.
Ответить🐐
ОтветитьSnuff = sneaky punch. Not kill. Lil QBC slang correction.
ОтветитьAlmost 30 years later, still listening to.... Thanks Nas, you are an absolute legend !❤
Ответить“Name a rapper that I ain’t influence”
ОтветитьDoes "Represent" not have a proper music video? I consider this the best rap song of all time and the fact it wasn't promoted with a video is just nuts!
Ответить1] it's not the greatest rap album 2] it's not even better than Reasonable Doubt and 3] the greatest rap album is All Eyez On Me, Life After Death etc...
ОтветитьImagine if nas just stayed shy and never picked up a mic lmao
ОтветитьThe Last Poets are never mentioned when the origins of hip hop are brought up
ОтветитьIllmatic is one of my favorites album from the 90s era. It's absolutely top 10 albums of all time, but it's not the best. I would choose Capital Punishment or Ready to Die over it.
ОтветитьDDP "Queens Keeps On Faking...
Nas Is Like Pardon Me But Here's Queens For You.
I love how he calmly says "he raps about shooting jesus, hanging brothers, killing police, and kidnapping barbara bush" 💀💀
ОтветитьNAS is BETTER then PAC .. 2nd best MC after BIG . Straight Up : the poetic one.
ОтветитьThe fact that Life's a Bitch doesn't even get a mention in this video is kinda crazy...
ОтветитьYou gotta make sum about ye uk his favorite artist is nas
ОтветитьMemory lane ❤
ОтветитьWhat goes unspoken about this album was the fact that at that time the West coast was killing and New York needed to make a statement. There is no better statement than Illmatic.
Ответитьif he had dropped just Ilmatic, he would’ve still been a legend.
ОтветитьAwesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьI can't explain to you kids how much cooler the early 90s were to now.
ОтветитьNas: I don't know how to start this sh*t; precedes to write a top 10 hip hop song of all time.
Ответить🔥
Ответить“ True in the game as long as blood blue in my veins “
ОтветитьRap existed before 1979 sugar hill gang
Ответитьa real student of the game my fucking goat
ОтветитьMan that Album flows in my veins. in my Opinion this still is the Greatest Hip-hop album of all time
ОтветитьIt's crazy to me how all these superstar producers at the time collectively agreed that this 19 yo kid was the future.
ОтветитьThat type of KNOWLEDGE at 19 was definitely crazy. Love that album 💪❤️
Ответитьrap did exist before 1979 take the treacherous three and kool herc as examples
ОтветитьRakim changed the nation's vernacular. Many of his lyrics became part of not just hip-hop, but human language. However, whether he invented the concept or not, the line "I never sleep, cuz sleep is the cousin of death." stuck with people like maybe no other line in hip hop history.
Ответитьand bro didn't talk about ny state of mind the greatest hip hop song of all time
Ответитьaw man you really disappointed me by thinking rappers delight was the invention of rap lol cmon bro.
that wasnt the invention of rap, they literally stole those rhymes & that song is hated by all the pioneers of Hiphop. that was the first RADIO rap, it's not even Hiphop
Sleep is the cousin of death. Tough line. Legend
ОтветитьHonestly, i found out about Nas like a month ago and now comparing him to all of my previous favourites like N.W.A, 50 Cent, 2pac, Biggie, Eminem etc. i just love his style, its like every rhyme is so deep and addicting. Now i understand what he meant by "Im a poor man's drean, a thug poet".
ОтветитьWhy is Kd sitting there so lost in the chair¿👺👛🏂
ОтветитьThe origin of hip-hop is argued. Many people did rapping before hip-hop was a thing. And that isn't the song that's usually credited as the first hip-hop record. Maybe I'm wrong too though but out of all the documentaries I've seen, I'm sure it was The Message or something else.
ОтветитьSometimes I wish I could find these videos done by people from that walk of life. Telling a story from someone who has been there, ya know? We get Nas telling his story but a documentary by people in that world or who were, would be nice. It's dope hip-hop grew this big to get to where white kids grow up with it and wanna expose the world to it. You help spread good music. But it feel like a school project when I watch these. Better than nothing, for sure. I'm not hating. I'm just saying a white kid from the suburbs telling us how Nas grew up is weird. Ya know? Maybe it's just me and where I grew up. Times changed and it's more accessible now. Mainstream.
ОтветитьThis is not the greatest rap album ever,,,Rakim paid in full album is better than illmatic and Rakim single handily changed the entire landscape for all rappers and emcees including nas
ОтветитьNo the greatest rap album is Muddy Waters by Redman
ОтветитьI skipped school the day illmatic came out to buy the tape!! I had to buy a walk man too bc I couldn't go home to play it! I sat at the park and listened to it and I knew right then that this was the greatest album ever! Thank you Nas for telling the story of every youth in the inner city through your lyrics!
