Rather on paper how you you apply it to the guitar so you can see in application do you have a book on that
ОтветитьMAJOR: I Don't Play Loud Music At Lunch
MINOR: At Lunch, I Dont Play Loud Music
I need a lesson a few steps dumber down from this.
ОтветитьOOOOOOOOHHHH YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
ОтветитьHey Rick, you sound a little stoned at .75x — all good, kind of a cool 70s rock vibe. I can’t recommend you at .5x though, it turns into a lecture for bass players at that speed.

Watched this a couple of years ago. Basics... but still great reminders!
ОтветитьJohn Parish interview
Ответить«Screenshot this stuff if you have to.», he said. Well, I don’t need to … ‘cause I own a copy of the book. 😊
ОтветитьWow, Rick Beato, I didn't know you did this, too (teaching music)! Great! God Bless <3
ОтветитьGreat video! I even remember the time when you couldn't just lift your telephone and make a photo ot said whiteboard with it!
ОтветитьLove your channel <3
ОтветитьGreat video! is it just me or does Rick kinda look like Al Pacino?
ОтветитьNow I understand why so many subscribers are in your Channel.
This is the easiest but most profound lecture of music theory in my life.
Respect to your deep understanding of music and compassion for people.
I can listen songs and figure them but have no clue what notes or chords are names 🤔 would this be a good place to start or do I at least need to learn those first
ОтветитьHow does the A harmonic minor differ from the key of B flat/Gm? They have 2 flats.
ОтветитьI want music to be less simple again!
ОтветитьAwesome info! Love these Beato music theory videos. I’ve learned a lot and I like how passionate Rick is about music. I wish I had his brain! 🎵🎹🎵🎸🎵
ОтветитьThe missing piece is always the fact that the chords are called major or minor because of the accidentals and intervals that build those chords. Just going from this is C Major and then "all major chords are called this way" is a bit confusing. Still, I´m binge-watching these theory videos from Rick.
ОтветитьMy favourite is:
I Don't Punch Like Muhammad A Li
Mid fifties feels like I missed the boat to learning guitar let alone ear training.
ОтветитьI've been trying to understand music theory for years and Rick just made it comically easy for me to understand and I'm so happy now yay hooray
ОтветитьAnd thousands of miles away ...we interpret these in Carnatic music Ragas...Melodic minor = Gowri manohari ....Harmonic minor = Keeravani 🙏
ОтветитьThe... Simpsonsss....
ОтветитьThank you for this crash course, Rick! You’re very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to this stuff. Going to buy your book
ОтветитьMy acronym for remembering the mode order is "I Don't Particularly Like Modes A Lot"
Ответитьnot gonna lie, the only reason your videos make sense is bc of my elementary formal piano training as a tiny tot and because i was doing these ear training exercises before i knew what they were called when i was like 8/9/10 years old 😅😅😅
ОтветитьI swear nobody is going to actually explain what "music theory" is they just start blabbing jibberish they assume you are going to understand. It's like going to someone to learn what "mathematics" is and they start doing a an advanced formula in front of you assuming you are going to understand but it just looks like chicken scratch because my question was "what is it?" Does nobody on this planet know how to teach something without getting lost in their own ego or w/e the fck people's problem is that keeping them from explaining wtf is it first?
ОтветитьWhat’s you wed side to order the books
ОтветитьThank you so much Rick. You have truly expanded my musical horizons and given me lots of ideas to run with. As a drummer, much of this information went beyond what I studied. Your channel and instruction materials have opened up many doors creatively for me and I understand some of my most beloved songs in a way that I never have before. I am most thankful for your channel and the things that I have learned.
ОтветитьHello guys could ii purchase the Beato Book via money order?
ОтветитьThis should be in school music programs yesterday
ОтветитьI dunno I just started learning guitar on Rocksmith like 2-3 months ago and to me it's like this guy is speaking another language lol
ОтветитьThe Beatles probably never realized most of this stuff (at least I like to think so) - but they for sure had great ears and were not afraid to snatch a chord progression from here, there and everywhere:) Don´t get me wrong, I do find this lecture interesting - 50 years too late, but most interesting.
ОтветитьThis is lesson 1 on the basics? Christ on a bike! 😖
ОтветитьWhat is the term SUS mean,
ОтветитьI was taught that a suspended chord means that you suspend the third or you delete the Third. Like being suspended from school. The number of the suspended chord indicates what note you're replacing the third with. It cracks me up that people call it a sus chord. Why don't we calls them dim chords or aug chords? LOL probably because if you call that a suspended second, you would think you need to suspend the second instead of suspending the Third replacing it with a 2nd.
ОтветитьAre there other videos in this series? Are there plans to have a playlist for theory the same as ear training?
ОтветитьJeffery Epstein was a music teacher?
ОтветитьGreat video, I'm struggling to apply these to my playing in real-time. I really enjoyed the breakdown that seemed to go a little further than most and I agree that writing this out is very beneficial. Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you so much for this instruction.I've played out for 45 years and had no idea what a lot of things meant.
Aug.,Dem.,Sus,......
Thank you Rick.
It's good to have somebody that can teach us music in our comfort of our home. Without commercial adds on top of it WOW, Your the man!
knowing that you know your stuff and we can trust you 100% is amazing for us.
Ho yeah! I don't play loud music at lunch cause I'm eating! 🤪
Have a good day sir!
Bravo Rick I appreciate u doing this, I'm sure u have plenty more of these classes, I will definitely take advantage of these great classes 👍
ОтветитьLydian Triad = The Simpsons 💜🔥
Love this 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you Rick Beato
I suddenly realize that "suspension" in music means suspense, waiting for something to happen, not suspended like a bridge or something.
