Wait, you're not supposed to get to the island? I'm... pretty sure I got to it when I first played. I was trying to get to the hotel and ended up finding a rock and I was like, oh this must be that island from the map, so I must be halfway through. Didn't really see if it was the whole island tho.

The monster in the jailroom isn't just noise, you can shoot an kill it, too.
That encounter, out of everything, was the most unsettling thing for me.

I’m 4 years late but I adore silent hill 2 so I’m hella happy I found this

You missed the one thing I’ve wondered for years! The pool house in the lake side apartments courtyard. There is a door thats just out of reach that has a door line on the map and is the only door you cannot check even though the map shows a path to it but its blocked by a gate in game..

Just imagine if a remake of Silent Hill 2 comes out and the town itself gets detailed on the same level as a Souls game! I won't hold my breath for such a thing, but the idea is pretty exciting
