technically it's a Zapata Western (you can tell by the fact it's clearly not from the American Civil War era), but they obviously used the same sound effects... (thanks wikipedia: I learned that shit just under a minute before checking this vid)

I was watching this on tv the other day and finally realized Franco Nero reminded me of Travis Fimmel from Vikings. The eyes and the smirk.

RE: the comments about the shooting sounds, these may in fact have been deliberate. This was the case with GBU where Leone took great care to record the gunshot sounds a particular way. Plus, there's no evidence that the microphones were any cheaper than any standard italian production of the time. Let's not spread unsubstantiated claims

Un film che si distingue da tanti altri sia per la trama che per destini film di assoluto valore con attori adatti f. Nero musante. E un j. Palance con commento musicale che ne esalta le scene un Morricone che mette quel tocco di classe che rende il film ancora più avvincente anzi senza tempo ❤
