ОтветитьHello, I subscribe. Interesting channel. When I saw your video, at the first moment, looking for guitar tutorials, I came across this video and when I saw your photo, I said to myself: Wow! I found Johnny Deep!
ОтветитьI have been playing for 50 years. That was well presented.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThis is the most helpful video I've found on the CAGED system. Thanks man
ОтветитьYOU FINALLY MADE ME UNDERSTAND OMG!!
ОтветитьHoly crap that made more sense than any lesson I’ve seen or taken . Saved this video for sure .. it will be included i. My daily attempted patctices
ОтветитьSo the pentatonic shapes kind of connect like a puzzle?
ОтветитьMan, it's the clearest explanation ever. Thank you for the help!
ОтветитьI learned this system about 23 years ago in a weird obscure book I happened to come across. No one I knew had ever heard of it, and I studied it judiciously for like a year straight. Before I knew it, I knew the guitar better than anyone I knew. Still do.
Ответитьseriously one of the most informative videos ive watched!!
ОтветитьThank you so much, Paul. I am a beginner and this is quite a bunch of help. I will dwell on this video for months to come auntil I improve soloing.
ОтветитьI never liked the caged system, why? because you would need to learn the notes anyway, and if you are learning shapes why not learning to play chords starting on a particular string, so a triad has three notes, so the G string could be the lowest string to make a chord, this way you understand root position and the 1st and 2nd reversal. the best thing about this is that the shapes will always stay the same.. Now if you know these then the arpeggio's you learn in major and minor start to make sense, the shapes will be hidden in the arpeggio's. caged system sounds too dull to my ears when you use it for soloing anyway. It is easier to add the extensions to the arpeggios and triads it just talked about when you know those. even shell chords will be easier to learn if you know where the 3rd and 5th are that make up for triads.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьYou just made the entire fretboard look easy to navigate in 10 mins. I wish I had this lesson 15 years ago. Thank you!!!!
ОтветитьGreat informative video! Guitar camera is extremely helpful and I loved that you had a backing track to play along with at the very end. It really tied the whole lesson together. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is an incredibly handy way to think of guitar. Awesome explanation man.
Ответить🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
ОтветитьThis dude is the goat
ОтветитьWonderful explanation and lesson. Though, all of these systems seem rather convoluted to me these days. I always teach bar chords and throw open chords out of the window, the fretboard makes so much more sense when laid out chromatically, additionally, when someone wants to learn how to solo; it makes much more sense laying out how all the boxes work. since one is already thinking about the fretboard chromatically.
ОтветитьBest instructional video I've seen🎉
ОтветитьGenius
Ответитьjust a huge thank you...that improoves my understanding and practice for solo
ОтветитьYou are aewesome thank you from Brazil
ОтветитьYOU ARE A GENIIUS.... MORE VIDEOS PLEASE. ABOUT TRIADS AND MODES
Ответить🌱
ОтветитьI have watched soooo many videos on this & still quite confused but you just explain it so clearly. It just completely clicked for me. Ahhh thank you thank you thank you 🙏 😊
ОтветитьMan, that was not only the best video explaining the CAGED system but also how to effectively use it. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьHad to come back to this video over the span of ~1 year, but it finally clicked. Lesson: stick with it even if it doesn't click at first. Great video.
ОтветитьFor someone is who is on the beginner side of playing a guitar (or instruments in general) this is probably the most instructive video on "why and how". This helps with finding chords before you know the specific name of them, playing with different ranges and really getting a feel after learning basic chords where we typically learn them.
You've given me so much more to utilize and learn, your videos are going to elevate my playing 100%. Thank you so much.
thank you so much, i've been playing for the past 4 months and just started learning the pentatonic scales. this has been so helpful in understanding everything, cant wait to start practicing again !
ОтветитьYou’re in amazing teacher
Ответитьthis is like walking around in a dark room, and the lights suddenly flicks on...
Your eyes are blinded for a moment, and you're confused, but you have light now, and everything in the room comes to clarity...
Mindblowing...
what the fuck...this is mind blowing...
ОтветитьI don't get it
ОтветитьI don’t understand: is the caged system just a way to memorize the pentatonic scale patterns?
Ответить
