Ответитьholy moly, i had had SOOOO many goes at trying to wrap my head around this and could never understand it, and now I do! thank you so much, righty then, I'm off to impress myself naming and playing shapes.
ОтветитьCounting for a major chord or min or aug/dim, do I start on the root note?
ОтветитьThis is really helpful, I love that you explained what intervals are first before jumping straight in. Thanks! :)
ОтветитьThese videos helped me become a multi-platinum producer 🔥
ОтветитьVery nice explanation of sound patterns
ОтветитьThis video is a good test to see if you understand intervals and how these intervals make chords. Good lesson
Ответитьreally useful, thanks.
ОтветитьPerfect format for me
ОтветитьMaybe it´s just me, but doesn´t a root note + minor 3rd + augmented 5th sound kinda great? Why can´t that be a chord too? Is it that the chord would be called something else? Sorry. I´m very new to all of this
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThank you, thank you, I finally understood, some aspects of the chords theory I couldn't get until now. What a patient and wonderful teacher.
Ответитьthanks

ОтветитьYou made this so easy for me. Thanks a bunch.
Ответитьsuscribed. excelent lesson, it was the thing i always wanted to be explained to me. Thanks from Chile.
ОтветитьThank for you this!!! I've been playing for 20+years. I know shapes of chords, and memorized so many things not quite knowing what they were and how to apply them, and have always been overwhelmed with learning the guitar fretboard. I wish I had seen this video sooner. It's honestly connected soo many dots for me! Thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge.
Ответить48 yr old finally entering music by trying to learn piano and guitar. This is GOLD for making the connections I need to help make it all make sense. THANK YOU! I’m looking forward to watching more as I practice / apply and progress!
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing this information. Every other video assumes you know what stuff like a perfect 5th or a major/minor 3rd is and the videos that teach that assume you know something else and it's just this loop of information you cant access. Thank you so much for cracking that loop open for so many people.
ОтветитьWatching these videos and reading these books on music theory always sound like someone who only speaks spanish trying to teach you, a foreigner, how to speak spanish. Doesn't sound too useful, does it? I used to have to cross-reference between teachers and pick out what they got wrong on my own. Thank you for all that you do!
Ответитьthis is really helpful! thank you!
Ответитьso good video!!!! i lauve!
ОтветитьGreat teacher
ОтветитьI am 55 yr old man just learning to play an instrument. This is really useful, just the right level.
ОтветитьThis made the dim and aug chords clear. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhich keyboard you are using in the video?
ОтветитьI just came across this video again and I wanna say thank you. I've always loved music and been making music since I was 9, but I never really bothered to learn music theory, or learn an instrument, I just used computer software to do it. In 2019 I discovered jazz for the first time and loved it so much I wanted to make music as complex too. Then I stumbled across this video... And watched all your tutorials up until the Circle of Fifths one, after that, I began learning on my own. And after these 2-3 years I can say I'm proud of myself, since I know so much, and I compose stuff I wasn't able to before, but I couldn't have done it without you! This video kickstarted my own journey. I'm immensely grateful.
ОтветитьHow did you learn? College?
ОтветитьI’ve noticed that C,F and G are like buddies and they have the same like finger placements for major, minor, and diminished. And D,E,A and B also have that same relationship.
ОтветитьI don't play any instruments, but I love music and to know how it works. This is a great video, clear and well explained.
ОтветитьThis is a perfect video... i am a beginner and learning two things at the same time never made so easly before👍
ОтветитьReached and age where my brain more resembles a lump of concrete than a sponge and still managed to understand this! Total respect due - thank you!
Ответитьthank you, I wish someone would have it in these terms for me long ago...
ОтветитьWhat is the difference between aug5 and m6 ?
Ответитьgoddamn this is fun
