Do you prefer shooting vertical or horizontal?
ОтветитьHaving open gate on my gh5 is nice.
ОтветитьWell explained! Thank you! What do you use to edit the vertical videos into horizontal ones? Especially if using a phone to video
ОтветитьHello Peter, what do you recommend for when you're wanting to film in a high frame rate which is only available in 1080p?
ОтветитьWhy don’t cameras have some way to frame vertically with a little mask or something even my Mavic 3
Pro does.
Yeah but you loose resolution by doing this.
Ответить6k opengate is the key i think
ОтветитьThanks bro, hug!)
ОтветитьI found this out the hard way i will no longer film vertically . ive missed some important information during a soccer game . I filmed an event vertically and i had no room for error and since i was shooting handheld the footage was awfully shaky and in post it was useless because i coulnt stabalize the footage without croping which i didnt have enough room for if i wanted to keep the subject in frame.
ОтветитьWhat camera and lens are you using to record yourself in this video? the quality is great
ОтветитьGreat advice!!! Thanks!
ОтветитьNo just kee to the first line!
Stop shooting vertical video.
Just stop, always film correctly and then cut and upload
Recorded horizontally:)
ОтветитьVery well explained
ОтветитьSimple but true
ОтветитьExcellent video - Just subscribed - Thank you!
ОтветитьIt never fit the screen when i edit my videos shooting horizontally.
ОтветитьWell said! Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьYears later and I still don't understand why vertical video is even a thing....
ОтветитьBoth methods have their place. I shoot cinematic stories and yt shorts where I make use of the auto loop.
Shooting horizontally creates completely different compositions where I'm having a hard time deciding what to frame in post. I always compose for what the sensor shows me. So naturally I get drawn to an image that will look good horizontally.
Shooting vertically eliminates that problem by limiting me to this very format. In post I work with images that I have already nailed how I want them to look --> carefree editing.
This would not work if I'd run and gun. Therefore shooting horizontally works better, because movement happens from left to right more often, like you described.
Like I said, both methods have their place. You need to decide where to use which tool.
