This isnt VR... if you have no full VR controller tracking and function, its not VR. This is just using the HMD as a rotatable head camera, thats it. People needs to stop claiming these VR mods are/is "VR". The RE4 VR mod that made RE4 VR official is how a VR mod should be... Not this shit or cyberpunk2077 "VR" mod which is far worse than what beth did for skyrim VR. Stop over hyping crap.

Yeah, It's a religious cult alright. I purchased far cry 5 for only 8.99 on steam which is 85% off and when I try to join this effin patron or whatever the hell that means it will not let me. Buyer beware!!!

These vr mods ARE THE ONLY HOPE that we'll get AAA content and long solo missions with great content.... I just wish full motion controls were easier to port.

Because most of us watching have a vr headset....You should post a direct sbs capture so that we can really see what this looks like in vr.... It would double the amount of content you post as well.

FarCry in VR looks like fun!

It seems like shooting in these sort of hybrid mods can be complicated. That takes thr fun out of it, since I like responsive controls.

This is why the Quest is such a seriously good value proposition for people.
You don't need a PC to enjoy pretty high quality standalone VR content.
You can use side quest to then install stuff like Doom VR and others
You can hook up to a PC if you have one for even more content.

Sony really should have allowed the PSVR2 to at least be used in this way with both side quest and a PC link to offer far more value to their customers.

Yeah, I'm not paying $10 for a fanmade VR mod that

1. Doesn't even have motion controls

2. May not even work on my system.

Preydog manages to do the same work if not more for waaaay cheaper. At least I get to try the mod and see if it works first.

If I wanted to force a flat screen game to work for money, I'd get that one third party software everyone used to use. That way I can use it on whatever game I want.

But $10 when every single other VR mod out there is free?

I have no interest in controller games, BUT I do hope that these mods will make some devs who might not otherwise have cared about doing VR maybe having their minds changed when they see just how good "real games" look in a VR headset.

Nothing stops Ubi from adding VR to any of their Far Cry games. ANY far cry game from 4 and older will run just fine in VR on a decent computer or the PSVR2. You could run that stuff at 90fps on a PSVR2... The studios need to just give us what we want.. These games, but with full VR controls. RE4 style.. Gimme gimme gimme!

FC6 hasd newer tech, such as some light RT reflections or the higher-res texture add-on, but I agree with you that FC5 is the better looking game. Colours are less saturated and cartoony, it's a little more dark and moody, and the game looks sharper and more crisp overall. FC5 is also one of the more engaging FC stories, at least as far as Ubisoft games go. I think it's Vaas who made FC3 so good, and while the game itself was really good, I have to give a slight not to FC5 as being my favourite installment too.

As an avid fan of 3... I loved 4 but 5?! its's brilliant.. currently playing it through catching everything in each sector of the map handheld on the Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go but now there's a Vr mod!!!???!!! died and gone to heaven!.. How do I get it?

What a weird choice. Not that these games vary that much from one to the next, but why 5?

There is a toggle hud mod on the nexus that toggles the hud on and off with caps lock.(its just drag a few files into the game folder). Comes with an ini file that you can change it from caps to a gamepad button. I changed it to right dpad. Works a treat in flat mode but haven't tried it with vr yet

Far cry 2 was the best. I hope that it gets remastered for vr. The 24 hour day/ night circle was so realistic

To me it’s not vr unless it’s rendered from the engine itself, not vorpx or reshade. Also needs motion control support lol

man I just do not give a flying crap about flat to vr mods. it's so janky and a pain in the ars to do. just for all that jank. the game isn't meant to be played this way. its like playing Alyx in flatscreen. waste of time.

I love Far Cry 3 too, it was so awesome on PC at the time.

I fell like it not really Vr I’ve you are just using a regular controller. Vr is all about immersion and while it is cool to be able to look around where ever I want, using a controller to do everything else feels wrong. 😅
