Bauhaus literally means Build house, not the art of building, that's an interpretation of what it means, so not literal.

Cities were beautiful here in North America before urban renewal cleared out half of themto replace them with modernist housing blocks invented here at the Bahaus. Men were not meant to live in glass and concrete box's. Wake up these people hated us and basically made a whole generation of architect's incompetent. It's all engineering now very architecture. think about the Athens charter that the people from this school where greatly influential and creating and then spread it to the United States because the people in Europe love their cities too much to tear it down and even after the bombings of world war II, which I think were set up because think about it they only bombed the poor sections. Look atLondon they only bomb the poor east side and barely touched the West rich side. And it's a documented fact that these modernist were excited the bombings because then they would have a chance to build and they even said that, even that simple fact is evil!
