I watched with my grandpa it was absolutely amazing!!

So inspiring i can watch this part over and over again and in the 80s i went to see the first one about 7 times at the movie theater one of the best anthems ever created 👍

Top Gun Maverick would’ve won the Oscar for best picture back when it was actually awarded to the best made film of the year

are the deck crew generally this enthusiastic with what there doing? I love it!! take it all what there doing is genuine .. pilots and deck crew saluting each other etc

Damn....now i have to go and rewatch this movie. 😅

One minor objection: They needed to update the card they displayed before the "Top Gun Maverick" logo...the Navy no longer calls it Fighter Weapons School. It is now the US Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Program, and it's now at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV. Naval Air Station Miramar, CA, where the school was founded, is now a Marine Corps base.

The interesting part of this whole opening is if you go back and compare it to the original, the only thing that changes is the planes themselves. Carrier flight deck ops have been the same on US Navy carriers since the 1960s. The same motions, the same setup, the same rockin atmosphere worthy of Kenny Loggins and "Danger Zone."

Make a version with "Danger zone " by Sinner!

Almost two years ago, I was so surprised to see how much hard work that was put into this sequel. Something that has become more difficult to do for Hollywood in recent years. I discovered the original movie just weeks before the COVID lockdown. My dad encouraged me for years to give the OG Top Gun a try! And I have to say Maverick is just as epic as its predecessor!

Was immediately screaming in my head, "THEY PLAYED THE SONG!" Like a little kid with a big stupid grin.

Name a better movie intro. I’ll wait

This film would not have been if not for the pairing of Joseph Kosinski and Tom Cruise on Oblivion, and the notable aerial battle scene in the film. From that work surfaced the idea to revisit Top Gun.

God every single one of you who serves/have served on a carrier is an absolute badass. I’m obsessed with jets but the ground crew is just as fucking dialed.

This was not just any opening... in theater this was an OPENING OF MY ENTIRE LIFE... because I live with TOP GUN in my soul and heart from original (and now this movie) until I die. I am 39 and went to see this movie with my daughter, she is 10, both we had t-shirts of TOP GUN hehe..., when this movie started TEARY EYES HAPPENED to me... its more than movie...for me, for all of us who understands me here... TOP GUN IS NOT JUST A MOVIES... IT'S WAY OF LIFE and part of life, forever.

The scene with thr Abe Lincoln bobblehead and how the plane creates a vaccum when taking off is so cool
