This is how it works: Mechanical Diorama of Chernobyl Museum

Last year, we created a brief video tour for you at the National Museum of Chernobyl, and at that time, we promised to reveal its great secret. The place itself is a must-visit if you are in Kyiv, but besides its incredible collection, there is something truly unique: a one-of-a-kind 3-stage diorama that displays the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant before, during, and after the 1986 disaster. Even after 30 years since its creation, it still leaves a great impression on people, especially when they discover that it is actually completely electromechanical. We met with its developers, and today, for the first time, we will go to the technical room to explain to you how this stunning piece of technology actually works.
