We Will We Will ROCK YOU
ОтветитьCrazy how you can make that much horsepower now in a Civic
Ответитьnice beat
ОтветитьMade in the days of engineers, not computer operators! Nothing against CNC machining as the cost saving and accuracy for multiple parts is obvious, but, and it's a big but,we do not have engineers like them anymore and it's sad. I did machine shop studies in college in the late 70s and loved the pride in a part machined well and fitting perfectly. Went on to become a welder fabricator as I enjoyed sticking metal together as well. Same applied there,a day of perfect welds and ya go home happy knowing you've done something to be proud of even as a spotty 17 year old! Loved it and still do although only for repairs and stuff at home.
I have a steam engine that is great fun to use. Thanks for posting a lovely video.
What a great machine. I was there in 2022. This engine pumped gas for many years not too far from where I grew up.
ОтветитьUna preciosidad de maquinaria y un trabajo ingeniero impresionante junto a una labor de conservación notoria
ОтветитьThis engine is basically a steam engine,
VASTLY adapted to run on gas. (Natural
gas.)
What is impressive, all the "modern" engine
technology. Roller rockers, roller cam followers,
and water cooled (internal) exhaust valves. That
cam layout, just great. Four heads, FOUR lobes
on the camshaft!

So sad what has become of this country. All of our Iron works and Steel mills are almost gone. We couldn't make this if we had to. I don't know maybe we could but I doubt it!🤷♂
ОтветитьDie waren uns früher vorraus.
ОтветитьThey will NEVER, EVER, AGAIN build something like this ANYWHERE in New York State...
ОтветитьI got the extreme pleasure of watching this engine's big sister run for the first time in years at the Buckley Old Engine Show in Buckley Michigan, a 1907 Tandem Compound Twin version, so two rows of cylinders with the flywheel in-between them, she has 23" bore pistons 48" stroke and makes 1100 HP at 98 RPM. its been running on compressed air for 6 years or so but this year was the first time running on her own power since the show acquired her. sadly she is believed to be the only one remaining in existence.
Ответить600 hp and 5000 ftlbs. It’s beautiful to watch at speed.
ОтветитьFantastic ! 👍
ОтветитьWhen running, it send gravity waves trough galaxy
ОтветитьSo...what's the point?
ОтветитьSnow gas? So steam.
Ответить600 hp but torque?
ОтветитьLooks like something from the Willie Wonka movie
ОтветитьCareful now- there's already a cold stitch repair on the cylinder wall, and i think it hit max RPM!
ОтветитьThe torque produced by that engine is amazing. I love the sound of it!
ОтветитьThank you for knowing how to film something. Nice video!
ОтветитьVery impressive
ОтветитьIts like a big sex machine.
ОтветитьAnd to think, I've seen 2017 Chevy LS engines shell out a lifter and the whole engine is trashed, with only 60K miles on them. Sure do miss the good ole days!
ОтветитьI will never consider roller rockers and overhead camshafts a modern engine innovation again. I thought they were great horsepower bolt ons for muscle cars in the 70's. Now I realise they existed for a long time beforehand.
ОтветитьThat big flywheel that he was cranking reminded me of the Engine room at Wyadotte Chemicals in the early 70's
Ответитьone thing for sure, they certainly don't build them like this any more!
ОтветитьThis is my type of asmr
ОтветитьThis is a well oiled machine that’s for sure
ОтветитьI got snow in my engine once too
ОтветитьI could watch this machine go for hours.
ОтветитьCould you imagine the look on our ancestors faces if we could go back and tell them “yeah… in the future we have 600 hp diesel engines the size of a small pony.”
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful work of enginmeering art, sounds amazing too!
Ответитьit also makes really nice music 💃💃💃
ОтветитьMAGIC-the best beat ever
ОтветитьParabéns para o iotub é o máximo obrigado iotub por traduzir os comentários ok
ОтветитьÉ conhecida bulandeira ok
ОтветитьAnd today we get 600 HP from engines weighing 275 pounds. Crazy how much things have evolved.
If they built an engine with this kind of displacement today. 18 x18= 324 x 48 15,552 x .7854= 12,214 CI or 200 liters.
Now for the trolls that are going to say the torque bla bla bla. Horse power is total work. You take an engine running at 5000 RPM and use a 50:1 Gear box you will get the same torque and RPM. 625 FT Pounds x 50:1 = 31,250 torque at 100 rpm.
It may have the same horsepwer as a fast car , but probably has over 1millon foot pounds of torque , that really what you need to get thing moving , nothing is getting the way of that thing
ОтветитьThe Western man genius.
ОтветитьI feel sound like orchestra overthere
ОтветитьQuite impressing: the beauty of mechanics!
ОтветитьIt's like a sugar factory machine in Indonesia
ОтветитьThat's actually an air compressor, right?
ОтветитьPoetry in motion!
ОтветитьAmazing mechanical marvel, Sometimes theres nothing quite like analog technology.
Runs fairly quiet all things considering and incredibly smoothly. Impressive for 1917.
It also works as a giant metronome
ОтветитьSome years ago I had an Otto gas engine Bore about 8 inches and stroke about 20 inches. It had a flyweel around 4 foot six incjes. I think it must have been made a b it before nineteen hundred. The spark ws with a contact breaker INSIDE the cylinder. I coildnt get it to work properly on gas so I converted it to petrol using a bettery and coil. It pumped all my water from a centrifugal pump at the botton of my well run by a series of flat belts
ОтветитьJust found your channel and Subscribed. Very nice work
ОтветитьHell of a cam shaft
