And the point about the grammar in the cult one is just.. huh? Poor grammar could be due to a variety of things. when lady iris said "you're really not gonna like what i did then" is what convinced me she's a troll. While it's not impossible the first and only cat she killed she also skinned it seems weird to not like killing it then also skinning it. First story; I would have given him up early on. Their life must have been pure hell.

If the first story is real, I have my doubts they were "really great parents". No sane human being would beat someone to death. Its one of the most brutal ways to kill, especially the detail of kicking their son in the groin, thats just disgusting. Seems like the apple didn't fall far from the tree to me

I questioned the first story during the beating scene. Who in their right minds wouldn't call 911 during/immediately after that? They just gave the top portion of the home to a psychopath that assaulted their infant daughter, who they believed might die at any moment by their own hand (self defense or not)? And then allowed him to roam freely into the world, just hoping he wouldn't go on to harm or kill others? And while older people can of course use social media and technology, and of course cuss, the frequent F bombs and descriptive tone about the son and his childhood in the '80s just didn't sound like a now-retired, aging man. It's just in the voice. Idk, it reeked of well-written horror material to me.

First story is absolutely cap and anyone who thinks different should hit me up, I have a very nice bridge I'm looking to get off my hands. Also, no reverse image search results isn't proof of much, most of those services only check properties of images that are liable to be inadvertently changed just by copying the image into a different folder or any number of normal things to do with a picture

I think downvoting/banning people like that doesn't make any sense. Giving them an outlet doesn't automatically validate them, and at the very least why not let people be transparent about their intentions? I think that's the most helpful & least dangerous option.

Why can’t redditors accept that some people just know how to write nonfiction. The first story sounds like a well written account of something that happened AND the op said it had happened many years ago, so of course it was well thought out and well written.
