Another of my numerous viewings. Wonderful music, wonderful playing terrific sound and picture. I LOVE this concerto, and the much underrated, and quite beautiful Concerto No. 2, whose 2nd movement moves me to tears every time. Thanks so much for posting this superlative video.

One of the best performances of this concerto ever. Everything is perfect. Colour, timbre, dynamics, everything. I love the colours that Gergiev is able to pull from the orchestra. And the soloists, simply the best. Beautiful. Thank you.

Excellent sound and dynamics, anyway it's a Concert for piano, trumpet (and what a trumpet!) and strings orchestra (and what strings and direction!).

Bravo to the pianist, the trumpet player, and orchestra. Superbly done.

Beautiful hands for the piano perfect shape (long and thin fingers) like Franz Lizst + interstellar talent = pianist superstar, every note is deliberately placed with the more surgical skilled balance between the fingers and hands. Danill lives the performance he is playing such artistry and conviction. wow so beautiful.

I heard this concert for the first time in 1993, played by Evgeny Kissin. I was so impressed that no other version will ever satisfy me. It made me forever a fan of both Sjostakovitsj and Kissin.

Playing trumpet like a boss, and piano, and directing as one, and the orchestra and even the audience... even me listening to this again and again...
