Hi Josh. May I know that the speaking questions are completely based on the conversation or the lecture? Because it is somewhat difficult for me to write or memorize some special points in reading parts. So would it be okay if I highly focus on lecture and conversation.

15 seconds for preparation of the 1st question is ridiculously short and takes a toll on one's mind for the rest of the section if it goes haywire. Nevertheless I have my exam tomorrow, wish me luck.
Thanks TST Prep TOEFL for the help. I'm extremely scared on what would happen tomorrow.

Hi, is speaking evaluated overall or individual questions separately? Can I use the same linking phrases for all of them or should I have different ones prepared for each question? Thank you!

If the speaking time is 45 seconds, is 2 supporting evidence sufficient enough?

I'm coming back to this video after receiving my TOEFL scores! I had around 10 days to study and I was very worried about the speaking section, especially because I was so out of practice and I have ADHD, which makes it hard to gather my thoughts on such a short time. However, today I found out that I got an overall score of 113 (R:30, L: 28, S:27, W:28), which is so much better than I could have imagined. Your videos and guidance were crucial for me, I can't thank you enough!

Hi! I am taking the TOEFL test from home and I was reading through the instructions where it says it is allowed to use a small desktop whiteboard with erasable marker. I was therefore wondering if it is OK to use this to take notes during all of the tests - including the speaking test? Vey grateful for a reply, thank you for informative and useful videos :)

I was preparing for my test and I would always wait for the end when Josh would reappear and it would be such a friendly face and was a calming agent to my practice. He would say stuff like congratulations you've reached till the end that shows you're serious and stuff like that. I prepared from the templates that Josh had in the description and got a score of 30/30 in speaking. I didn't focused much on the other sections and didn't do very good in them but was able to get 20 above in each section which was still an accomplishment for me. So here I am thanking Josh for being such a good teacher, mentor and support system in reaching my desired score in speaking and all the other sections. Thankyou Josh you're a gem. <3

Hi Josh, A question puzzled me all the time about speaking section, should I always have to pick a side? or I can just stay neutral?
for example, the question - It is a matter of personal opinion whether or not children should receive money for doing household tasks such as cleaning. Here are some points to consider for both sides of the argument:

For:

Children who contribute to household tasks may feel a sense of accomplishment and responsibility, which can be valuable character-building experiences.
If children are paid for doing household tasks, it can teach them the value of hard work and the importance of earning money.
In some cases, children may be able to use the money they earn from doing household tasks to save for something they want, which can help them learn about financial planning and budgeting.

Against:

Household tasks are a normal part of being a member of a family and should be expected of children as a part of their responsibilities and contributions to the household.
Paying children for household tasks may give the impression that they are only willing to do them if they are rewarded, which could create a negative dynamic within the family.
Depending on the child's age and maturity level, they may not be ready to handle the responsibility of managing money and could end up spending it impulsively or unwisely.

Ultimately, whether or not to pay children for doing household tasks is a decision that should be made by the parents based on the individual needs and circumstances of their family.

can I answer like that as a neutral?

I just wanna ask if anyone here responds as well as the written answer exampled here. Is it okay to answer questions with just a brief but coherent answer? I feel like I won't be able to answer as detailed as the example.

My biggest issue with this section in the exam is that I am always overwhelmed by social anxiety. Having both the struggle to communicate in a different language and to communicate by speaking is what's killing me. My brain cant process well especially under pressure. What pains me more is that I know I am capable of talking well in English but when I try to let the words out of my mouth, I just stutter and lose my train of thought which then derails to even bigger problems such as wasting time and then panicking to the idea that I wasted time. Lmao. I wish I could find tutorial that can train myself not to panic and be comfortable with the language because in our country, it is an intimidating one.
