Also its the layer of the earth's atmosphere above the troposphere, extending to about 50 km above the earth's surface (the lower boundary of the mesosphere). And the mesosphere is the region of the earth's atmosphere above the stratosphere and below the thermosphere, between about 50 and 80 km in altitude. And the troposphere is the lowest region of the atmosphere, extending from the earth's surface to a height of about 6–10 km (the lower boundary of the stratosphere).

You are a great teacher, excellent work. I would assume by now you completed your PhD and lecturing at some university. What is it? If you do offer classes online I am very interested. Good luck

I know it's not related at all, but something you said in this video gave me a question that maaybe you might be able to shed some light on? If energy is defined as ability to do work, and "zero point energy" (vacuum energy) is a thing, how can it actually be energy? Because theres no gradient, so there's no possibility to do work? But I cant think of any other exception, the definition you gave works well, so it seems to me like the issue is in the description of the vacuum "energy", not the definition of energy itself.

I'm really enjoying these crash course videos. Sometimes its difficult to get into an educational series like this but your enthusiasm and concise but accurate pieces of knowledge make the information feel so smooth and easy to take in. Thanks a lot, really interesting! :)

As you go higher the sun gets closer, and temperature increases.
but temperature decreases again in Mesosphere . a little bit confusion

Happy I watched this! Great video. I'm an undergrad engineering student -I loved hearing your perspective! "notably some work by my supervisor" (brushes off shoulder) lol. I love watching lecturers with personality & especially those who can strategically incorporate bits of humor.

I imagine that the first bit was out of focus because it was pre-recorded for the 'up next' segment, and the last video was out of focus. The second half is perfect. Great episode by the way!
