Karcher K2 Review / BEST PRESSURE WASHER for Car Cleaning & detailing?

I'd a K2 and the hose length was my biggest bug bearer as I'd to constantly keep moving the unit around the car to wash all of it but I'd no problems with the extension reel getting dragged about.... To buy a longer pressure cost almost have the price of the machine and possibly more making it more sense to spend the money upfront on something like a K4

The biggest question is how the hell do you attach a foam cannon by chemical guys to the wand ?!!!

Had a k2 last over 10 years as a weekender and I’ve used it a lot..
The hose is definitely to short tho..

I love this pressure washer. I bought and extra hose to make it easier to get round the car.I wouldn't be without it.l xx

Listen ... A K2.... Crap. I can piss stronger. Try a real jet wash and see the difference.

The combination of a water hose, a power lead, perhaps on extension and the lance hose is an inevitable tangle and potential trip hazard unless you are well organised. It definitely needs s longer, more flexible hose, at least the machine itself can then stay in one place.

Karcher are exactly the same mentality as Apple, unless you go to the top of the range just like Apple they are non-repairable as spares are deliberately overpriced from the manufacturer if you can get them another case of a chuck away product What you call an uneconomically viable repair Ask any technician in any tool hire company throughout the land how many Karcher repairs they take in !Also Karcher told me once because I was using it continuously for over 20 minutes I had invalidated the warranty repair because the domestic versions are not supposed to be run continuously WTF

I've had my K2 for over 10 years and I've only replaced the high pressure hose because it got damaged. Mine has the built in mixer tank and I use Karcher car and bike detergent which works brilliant. Allways let the low pressure water run through it before you use it on high pressure, this stops the pump running dry on first start up and prevents damage.

I bought mine for 62 pounds, I don't think the length of the hose will bother me much 😊

If using it without a water tank, are you just relying on the water supply from a hose running from a domestic water tap?

It’s not the best pressure washer far from it. Ferrex is by far better. 130 Bar 10m of hoes. Comes with all tools brush. Canon bottle everything you need. For £109 I don’t think it can be beaten.

Would a 3kva petrol generator power this karcher k2 ?

The jet setting on my regular hoes nozzle is stronger than this pressure washer

Why on earth would you review a Pressure Washer that was never intended for car cleaning, by using it for car cleaning? The only thing epic here is that your reviewing things inappropriately.

The K2 is air cooled and only intended for short, 5 to 10 minute bursts and is intended to clean garden furniture/bicycles etc.

It wasn't built with the power nor stamina to clean cars and was never intended to.
People use it to clean cars because they don't read anything and because their cheap. then they bash it saying its rubbish. Like you have.

Bitching and moaning about the short hose on something NOT intended for car cleaning... Your a perfect example of a poor reviewer.

Lets compare something not intended for this purpose, then spend 5 mins moaning about it and how it could be better, then compare it to the ones that are intended for that purpose, that are better....

Seriously mate... How have you got 46k subscribers? Anybody using a K2 to clean their car really, really needs to get onto a K4 or above and see what "clean" actually looks like and how fast those machines are, and how much quieter.

Sadly, this is the result of free speech... Have you seen my review on digging the garden using a dessert spoon? You'd enjoy that... I later compare it to a variety of shovels after moaning about it for 5 minutes... 🤣🤣🤣

If you're going to do a review of anything, at least have the decency to start with something suitable for its intended use.

I've used the karcher k2 as a business doing 2-3 cars a day 4days a week for 4 years and its never missed a beat payed £62 at time,. Only thing I did was add 10m hose been great for the van using small generator and water tank. Value for money compared to a kranzle 🤣

Who only washes their car once a month, my older model K2.54 has been going for 10 years and I wash my car with it every week.

Karcher always makes short hoses. I used to use all Karcher but am totally disappointed with their quality and shifting to different brands

I have a Karcher K2 and been using it for 4 years.
But I wish I bought a Lidl / Aldi / Screwfix / Neilfisk brand for the same price but has more power and longer hose.

I’ve got a k2, I’ve upgraded to a longer aftermarket hose and put a quick connector on outlet of pump, but watched your videos on Ava and nilfisk, when the k2 gives up the ghost it’s going to be one of those makes, 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

3m pressure hose is too short, I bought 2nd hand 10m hose and it is much better. Supplied foam nozzle in K2 CAR kit is of limited use.

I always tell people no matter the reason if you've never used one buy a SunJoe. Seriously it's the best choice for a beginner they are really not that expensive and they are very well made.

Il stick to my k4. Had it for years. Brilliant. I’ve upgraded the hose tho. You still get the same shit hose when you up the versions aha

I’ve just had to get rid of mine. Had it 3 years. Used many times a week. Upto 20 times a month…

I got gifted a K2 Universal a year ago by parents. It does okay on my beater Golf. Out of box experience is horrible - 3 meters from Washer to Pistol??? YOU SERIOUS? And the out of box Jet Spray universal lance that mine came with just manages to do dirt tornadoes.😂 Really not that good for what it ends up being used on.
I got a Karcher 9 meter hose upgrade and that is doing good enough, though it loses a meter or so in brutally wrinkling again. And i really want to replace the original lance, i guess a VP120 is the upgrade.

The K2 itself is fine, seems to be enough pressure, just really annoying to be nickel and dimed for mandatory upgrades. At least this learning experience is on the cheap. (And definitely better pressure than your K4 video)

bought the k2 compact from karcher re conditioned for £30 and paid a fiver more for a 12x months guarantee, works fine but had to buy a longer hose and having to move it is a pain but you get what you pay for.

buy from b and q when they break take it back and swap it for a new one, just keep the receipt, also they are small you can hide out of site, I think nilfisks, k7 s don't look professional, huge chunks of cheap plastic.

Is the Nilfisk 140 -8 a lot better?

Iv been fairly happy with my k2. Its now 7 years old and works just fine. It takes time to clean my v90 for sure and that is why i upgraded to k7, cant wait for it to arrive.

The k2 has endured much in its lifetime, the plastics are cheap and break fairly easily, but techically its still working fine. Never did i bleed any air out and its been stored in cold, small storage hut (-30c) sometimes in finland and still works.

I’ve had a K2 Karcher unit for few yrs now which I got cheap fr Tesco as doing a cheap deal at the time…abt £50
I’ve added extras from the Karcher Outlet place over the yrs too as great value compared to new prices in the retail shops….like the Karcher foam nozzle which is basic but was only £6 I think…not great and will look at the MJJC Canon Pro even tho it’s exp at £50 tho?? Got a patio lance cleaner too so will do for the decking n patio.
Have just ordered a longer hose too after reading the tips on here for this car detailing weekend warrior!!

Hose, electric cable and gun hose, those are three things that I was dealing with while trying to clean the large patio and gave up!

Just picked up one of these k2 washers and its just for my own car, i think i can live with the negatives you mention, all my life ive just used a standard hose and sponge, hopefully this k2 will give better results. I aim to use it once every 6 weeks or so. I have used the k5 for my driveway before and i know this k2 is lower spec but seeing as its just for my car only time will tell if it is upto the job or not. (Got to be better than a standard garden hose right?).

On this guys advice I purchased the 7125 pro karcher direct from karcher and couldn't be more impressed thanks for your advice

Hope is sort so it's a pain move in it about but it don't brake easy like you said it's been in back of my car with loads of things and it's good.electric cable just put one of them plastic plug covers on it so no water gets in
