How to use Dual Function X-MODE in select Subaru models

During our very snowy season 5-7 feet of snow, we have to put our Subie’s into Xmode to get up our private road and into our garage.
Likewise, after turning off the county road and onto our road we have to put our pickup into 4WD.
Our road is steep and we have to plow and maintain it ourselves.
