For casual reading material on this airplane (for the off-duty relief pilots), I would suggest anything written by Ernie Gann. "Island in the Sky", "The High and the Mighty", etc. What a beautiful airplane!

Is there heat from the engine? Oil/Air heat exchange?

I've always had fond feelings for the DC-3, I suppose because my initial experience with the airplane occurred in 1945, when I was three and I flew in a Panagra DC-3 with my parents from Santiago, Chile to America. (My Dad was a mining engineer who worked in the Kennecott Copper mine in Sewell, Chile, the world's largest underground mine and very important to the war effort - they set a record of, I think, 83,000 tons in one day for the war.) I have no idea of the route - I am sure I spent almost all the time sleeping. The next time I flew in a DC-3 was in 1963, from Frankfurt to Hamburg. It was so tiny after crossing the Atlantic in a Douglas passenger jet.

My Dad flew a C47 from England to N. Africa during WWII. Unescorted with the 60th troop carrier group.

I admire peple that restore airplanes and fly them. But crossing the Atlantic is something outstanding. Congratulations!

Я восхищаюсь людьми, которые ремонтируют самолеты и летают на них. Но пересечение Атлантики - это нечто выдающееся. Поздравляю!

Those wing and tail cameras don’t do the plane justice due to distortion from their wide angle lenses. Why didn’t you use camera drones?

I don't get how it's crossing the Atlantic if you're just going to Canada? And how is it a 1930s airliner if the plane is from 1945?

That background music is totally unnecessary. It does nothing but interfere with being able to listen to what is going on. Lose it! For now BIG THUMB DOWN and you lost me. Bye

My grandpa flew these over the Hump through Aluminum Alley from India to China. And somehow, here I am. A miracle. He had a killer mustache.

I flew on the DC-3 a lot on PBA Air (Provincetown, Boston Air) back in the 70s and early 80's when I was a kid. I loved it. So fun bc it flew about 9K feet above the bay with just a canvas net for the door so you could really see stuff.

Amazing video but I'll only watch a bit if it has music or a beat on the back. Really would like to hear the takeoff without it!

There are few things better than watching two skilled individuals exercising their passion with precision. Let alone the discipline and work to achieve this potential and capture the opportunity to experience what our aviator predecessors set for a bar of ability.
Salutations for being the capable pilots you all are. Being the entire plane and powerplant intellect.

My stepdad flew for the RAF starting in 1942. He flew many aircraft in his time and later on in the 1970's and 80's, he flew Goony Birds, during the the Escobar years. "Wink wink." I was just a kid at the time. I was always terrified whenever we left the ground but he assured me that the DC 3 was as solid as a plane as they've ever made. The one thing that I'll never forget was the sound. It was very distinct and there was something comforting about it. RIP....William "Bill" Robert Evans. Major RAF.

You were are true badasss. Thank you for teaching me to fly!
