So I lived in India for 13 year and most of that time I shot on Mini DV and Hi8 tape. I need to copy all these for family history. If that digitizer is still floating around, I'd live to use it and share some of the videos with you.
ОтветитьI have a JVC GR AX55 camcorder from 1993, but no battery, charger, or tapes :(
ОтветитьSony DCR-TRV11
Sony DCR-TRV30
Sony HDR-HC3
Sony HDR-UX20
whats the camcorder u used/which do you recommend?
ОтветитьMy father's mom won a 1996 Camcorder on lottery and gave it to him, I have to ask him again but I think he has some tapes took something like 25 years ago or I don't know, I just need to ask him and I discussed with him of trying it, so we did, it still works pretty well! Only issue though is to get the stuff to digitalize the tapes (That's funny because if I remember he told me he wasn't sure we could do that so I told him that yes) and also right before talking about this he noticed that the battery was dead so had to keep the thing plugged to try and see if it works, but we surely can still easily find some and honestly I can't wait ! I've been wanting to try and record something with it for months! I'll ask him tomorrow and see what he says.
ОтветитьI've been trying to transfer my mini DVs FOREVOR. Its been a total mind frag and very costly, it hasn't worked no matter what.
ОтветитьI have a ton of vhs tapes but we need to digitize the content on them so we can keep our memories. I juat bought a canon optura 30 perfect condition only missing the charger, for 20$. It charges the battery if you plug in the camera.
Ответитьwhat camera is this😭
ОтветитьI hate that my family’s camcorder only has mono outputs, not even an S-Video out. But more premium models from the same brand have those ports, what should I do about that? Do I really have to buy another camcorder in order to export in the highest quality?
ОтветитьTapes don't degrade if you store them right
ОтветитьWhere is the Converter now. Can I be put on the list?
ОтветитьPotato Jet, what a cool nickname! Ha ha. Ok Potato Jet, my name is Steve Gehrke and I'm an old farther compared to you, but I'm setting up to convert some old home movies from the late 60's and early 70's! Really! I converted them from silent Super 8 to S-VHS around 1990 but most of my family still hasn't seen them! I narrated most if them I knew the context to so... but it's time to go digital and share with my family. Especially since I have few hours of my first wife (rip) who passed when both my two kids where both in diapers so they didn't get to know their mom really. Now they are both flirting with 30 (yrs 94 and 96 bdays) and to get to see a few hours of their mom when she was health and happy and early after breast cancer diag would probably floor them to no end Especially since they don't know about these tapes/videos!! So, Mr Potato Jet sir (he he he) Gene, do you still have that digitizer you were testing out and offered to pass along??? I know it's been bout 3 yrs since your video and offer but I figured it would not hurt to ask right! And I'm disabled due to breaking my neck playing high-school football (not paralyzed but arthritis in my neck now messes with nerves and makes using my arms and hands difficult) my point being I have only my disability income and thats like embarrassingly low so any "shparing" of equipment like the digitizer would be huge! And I'd pay for it (some anyway)to be fair! Like would $30 + shipping work??
Anyway, I really enjoyed your video and had a couple good laughs and even learned a thingie or two!😅
So, did you marry your very pretty young girlfriend my man? If you were smart you did (cause you ain't exactly Fabio type material ha ha ha). Joking, joking, don't get yer pantys twisted in a knot. (I'm so messing with you - hope you can take some teasing my friend. I think you can. ). So Mr. Potato Jet Vlogger man, sir, consider my request and let me know please??!! And if your now married accept my congratulations please!!
I look forward to hearing back from you sir! Until then thank you for your time and attention! God bless....
Steve G.
After 3 years since this video, would you recommend this camera? If so, what exact camera is that?
Ответитьwhat camera is that
ОтветитьThe lighting was definitely better with the Christmas lights 😂
ОтветитьThis video is three years ago. I really enjoyed watching it, you're hilarious. I have two old camcorders. Are you still giving away the Premiere or should I try somethingelse? Also a tape is stuck in one camcorder. I don't want to lose the content. Do you have advice? Does sony do repairs?
ОтветитьI would like to know what Handicam Sony Digital8 is good to transfer 8mm tapes to my laptop.
I remember that some cameras only would work with Hi8 tapes. However, my tapes are 8mm from previous Handicam Sony cameras.
Lovely family memories ❤
ОтветитьAmazing video, thank you!!
Ответитьdude this is such a fun watch! I love your energy.
ОтветитьThanks for posting this video. I'm currently digitising old VHS taps and old MiniDV tapes successfully but when I play my old Canon UC4500E video camera tapes which are the larger 8mm tapes I'm getting no audio at all. It's not poor audio, it's no audio. The videos of my sons as toddlers are viewable but I can't hear anything. There's no audio on the camera playback on not on video capture software either. Any ideas? Would cleaning the heads help of is it a microphone issue with the camera. All advise welcomed. Thanks.
ОтветитьYes, Pleasure rush me the gadget! I have about 30 over mini DV cassettes taken more than 23 years ago of my son when he was a newborn. It would be good to digitize the mini DV cassettes because on it too were my close buddies who one by one have departed from this world. Thank You, Sir!
ОтветитьYes i Need it send it asap/
Ответитьi could still really use that lol
ОтветитьWhere can we get a head cleaner for 8 mm / super 8 mm video camera ?
I bought a mini camera head cleaner .. however could NOT find the 8 mm head cleaner .
Any links to those would be appreciated. Thank you .. nice Video
firewire?
ОтветитьYoooo I found my old school camcorder with those size tapes! Is this recorder you used still best to transfer onto memory cards??
ОтветитьFun fact: Computers in the old days used Cassette Tapes for their data, so those Cassettes MIGHT have some very low quality video on them, or perhaps even programs. And now you know :D
ОтветитьI finished loading the old-time videos just in time. The camera now makes lots o sounds and it is almost dead. Loved the old camera. Glad I was able to do so much work on about 100 videos. I now have a newer model. I'm getting back into making art, hahahah. Thank you, :)
Ответить'Digital will not degrade further'
FALSE
What video recorder did you use for this video?
Ответить[Magnetic tapes]|[iron rust] last longer than digital|transistors. You should back up SSD on HHD (and other SSD).
ОтветитьIs camera k battery nhe mel rha
ОтветитьIs k battery k linked kya hai
ОтветитьDIGITNOE converter how can I get in Nepal (Kathmandu) ?
ОтветитьNice video so much hand movement felt like you was about to smack the girl
ОтветитьI've got an old canon Hi8 camcorder that used to be my dads and we still have loads of tapes that have some footage of me from when I was two years old. I'm about to turn nineteen. It was really emotional watching them back even though I obvs don't remember a thing from the clips 😂
ОтветитьWhy did I think this was Evantube hd
ОтветитьI like camcorders and vhs tape and old school tv but I’m in Thailand the vhs , camcorders , and the old school tv extinct :(
ОтветитьSome old, old tapes have some deteriation going on, so you need to use a Time Base Corrector to "clean up" the video. It supposedly, magically, enhances the content, removing rolling, tearing, and other yukky parts of the video, and making it appear like a brand new recording.
ОтветитьHis mom looked 21 holy shit
ОтветитьI want to digitalise a music video next moth here in Berlin
someone who has it rn could maybe send it over
we are doing a low budget student project on VHS
u would help me tremendously
i got a cannon zr830 but i cant find a charger for it
ОтветитьThe fact that I have the same camera at home>>>
ОтветитьI csn go back to vhs tape camcorders I still have some of my vhs stuff I recorded I also still have mini dv and hi 8 tapes
ОтветитьMy footage looks fine after all these years. Should I still try the head cleaner? its from 2006-2010
ОтветитьI have my moms old JVC GR-DVL510U that last year i picked up again after a few years that she gave it to me before i went to college to study art and photography. I know wanna digitize and transfer the photos and videos. The camera also has a 8mb multi media card. If anyone has any more info for how to gain access to the photos for cheaper id love to head it.
ОтветитьHello, Potato, Wow! That's expensive. I have been on a chat with 3 different Sony agents trying to figure out how to transfer from sony DCR=TRV460. I have no fire wire. Each agent told me different things that I would need. I bought ReadyWired USB Data Cable Cord for Sony DCR-TRV355E, DCR-TRV360, DCR-TRV38, DCR-TRV39, DCR-TRV40E, DCR-TRV460, DCR-TRV460E. And it doesn't work, must return. Afraid to keep returning things to Amazon. I would love to win a prize and then pass it on when finished.
