Tech Focus: Nvidia DLDSR - What Does AI Downsampling Actually Do?

After plug in display port 1.4 to 4k monitor Dsr option is gone away, how to bring it back?

Does this add any considerable amount of lag to wich image is shown on screen?

I've noticed that in case of DLDSR 2.25 smoothing value to make picture similar to original was set to 50% (Yennefer face), but in case of combination DLDSR + DLSS Quality it was set to 85% (God of War). Does it mean that DLSS adds some sharpening and have to be smoothed more or it's jus a personal preference for this game?

Thank you very much for your explanation. There is a question I want to ask. I turn on the edge enhancement settings for the game from the Nvidia control panel. I also enable it from the settings in the game itself. So if I turn off anti-aliasing when I enable DLDSR, will I experience a decrease in resolution? If there is no flicker in the resolution and around the edges of the objects and there will be details, I will turn off the anti-aliasing settings. because it drops fps.

I was able to play trepang at 6K on ultra/high with DLDSR and then also using DLSS on perofrmance to get almost 80 fps average...... Think about that. So you're going for 6K which is 2.25 times 4K, then you add in DLSS, which is running the game at 1900p and you're getting 80 fps on an Unreal Engine 4 game on a 2080 super. And because DLSS is so efficient at what it does, at 6K upscaled and then rescaled with AI DLSS to around 1800p you lose very little image quality......

It was insane when I played it. When I booted up Trepang at 6K I thought for sure even with DLSS that I'd be running well under 60. But..... Nope. It doesn't.

I'm curious how this footage was captured, I am unable to capture gameplay post down-sampling; only the upscaled image is captured.

I would love to compare "1080P 2.25x DLDSR" to "1440P native".

I'm about to buy hp omen 17 ck2007 nu laptop i7 13700k 4070 ti 12 gb vram 1440 p.Will I be able to use dsr and dldsr?

I want to see a comparison between DLDRS and different antialiasing techniques at higher res like 1440p or 4K.

why did they even choose 2.25x for DSR? Its such a weirdly-specific number considering they could've gone for 2x or 2.5x

great video, but i wonder how did you managed to record in 1080p with the exact same looking quality as you see while using DLDSR, i tried to record it but OBS doesnt pick the smoothness or sharpness it just records it into 1440p, that way i have to use AA in my game to make my recordings look better, any tips for recording the same quality as you see
