I know the double night earns started in mid-February 2024 up until the end of April 2024. How often do the double night earnings happen? Do they occur at the same time each year or randomly? Trying to plan for future trips at the right time for the double night earnings.

No one stays this number of nights in a single year unless you are living at the hotel like (my name is earl) or are some kind of traveling salesman.

The points don't = status like with Hilton? Its 100% about # of nights stayed not the money spent on the credit card?

For someone that travels internationally a lot hotel status seems pointless for me. You end up paying a minimum of double what Airbnb costs and you do that 50 times to get status. It just feels like thousands of dollars being overspent for not much benefit.

I have a question. I do have both Amex Marriott Brilliant and Chase Marriott Bonvoy boundless. I have earned 60 Elite nights this year and 25 nights came from having Amex Brillaint card. I am thinking about canceling Brilliant in Dec. When do I lose platinum status exactly? Do I keep the platinum status in 2024 cause I actually qualified platinum status with elite nights? Or those 25 elite nights came from Brliant don't count anymore? Or am I still qualified because of 15 elite nights from Chase Bonvoy Boundless?? Most likely, I won't be able to hit 50 Elite nights in 2024.

Hey so I’m 20 years old and have a marriot boundless card I have stayed a decent amount of nights at Marriott but I’m currently at “49” nights and elite gold status but I know I have not stayed nearly that many nights how does using my card translate to more nights stayed? Thank you

Hey Luke love your content im always tuned in for all your videos but I have a random question , if you or anyone can answer.
Amex platinum has a 500 dollar spend offer for the marriot hotel and villa collection. My question is will that get triggered if I spend above 500 dollars with a refundable deposit? Will I get the 100 off and the 200 back ? Thank you again!

You should redo this video (after you do videos for the new Marriott cards from Chase and Amex) Fine print from both issuers says that you can get 30 (chase) nights and 40 (amex) nights a year towards status if you get a personal and business card. Would be pretty easy to get Lifetime Elite status now ;)

Hey Luke, do you find it better to book hotels with the hotel card, or a travel card? I feel by booking with a travel card you get points and miles from the credit card used plus the hotel points for booking direct, where as booking with the hotel card you just get hotel points. But I may be overthinking this.

Gold Elite status with Marriot is a pure con job. U basically get nothing for it, except a "Marriot" points boost. If U have it thru Amex, just discount it in ur benefits calculation - especially in the US.

Titanium elite here. Late checkout is my favorite benefit but it depends on the hotel.
Two days ago the Sheraton Gateway Toronto Airport gave me 6 pm late checkout but the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Jackson Ridgeland/The Township at Colony Park denied me even one hour after regular checkout, violating Marriott's policies.

I like the new intro and visual in your video. Looking good! I haven’t used it myself, but the Marriott Stars program is like an FHR with similar benefits that you book through a participating travel agent. My understanding is that you can get Bonvoy points credit and status recognition on those stays.

I have the Marriott Bonvoy Business and Brilliant card through AMEX, so I get 30 elite nights immediatly. So I was able to hit platinum status (50 nights).

We just redeemed 240k Marriott points for a 5 night stay in Park City, UT at the Hotel Park City resort. Our initial room selection was a standard suite (lowest tier) which were still very nice rooms. This redemption would have cost $2500 roughly. So over 1 cent per point.

A couple days before check in, I messaged through the app when it prompted me to start my check in that we would like to request an upgrade (I saw that for the dates we were staying, that the cottage suites weren't all booked out). They wrote down my request, and asked that I request again on the morning of check in through the chat app. I did that 2 days later and we were comped to a Cottage Luxury Suite w/ private hot tub, full bedroom, etc. Would have cost around $4300 for the 5 days (effectively making my redemption 1.8 cents/point)

I definitely appreciate Marriott and highly recommend that hotel to anyone traveling to the area!

I've stayed at some good Marriott spots so far and I got a long ways to go with the ones I'm interested in staying at the most. My favorites so far are the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale and The Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa in the Dominican Republic. But the best one so far is JW Marriott Marquis in Miami was hands down my favorite!!!!

Nice intro Luke! It would be awesome to be Platinum Elite or Ambassador status, but I don't stay in enough Marriotts to even come close. Guess I'll just have to settle with Gold status via AMEX Platinum. Great overview!

I’m glad you still enjoyed the Dolphin stay with your son. I think I recall you getting a bit Bonvoyed on that stay.
I stayed at both Dolphin and Swan burning through our Marriott certs that were expiring to take our daughter to DW. She loved it. Reviews say Swan is better but I disagree I think it’s the Dolphin, especially with the Sports bar and nicer surroundings. Bell hop messed up transferring our luggage and a standard FL Downpoor literally broke something in the hotel that it rained into our bathroom through the vent, but I can only laugh about that at this point. 😂

Good to know that it’s possible to get more than 1 CPP. Could be a decent transfer option in areas that don’t have a Hyatt.

Probably the most notable Marriott I’ve stayed at was the Blackstone in Chicago while attending an event at the Hilton next door.

New intro is awesome! Thanks for the video. My experience has been virtually no status upgrades regardless of the Marriott brand. I was just at a JW and when I asked about a preferred room upgrade - they said I could pay for one. 😂 . No big deal since my Gold status is from credit cards, but if I'm putting in 30 nights for that.......... IMO - not worth putting in the time to get their elite status.
