ОтветитьThe classical music, I forgot the name of it cutting in around 33 minutes in was absolutely a breathtaking example of cinematography. Also the conversation immediately after it was haunting. The music, how he starts explaining by showng the rage his father showed him. God damn. His father.... only part way through this documentary so far. The music after?oh my goddd.
ОтветитьFor someone who has been accurately diagnosed with ADHD, taking Adderall absolutely does not result in drug addiction because the ADHD brain is wired differently than the non-ADHD brain, and therefore does not experience the same intoxicating effect. FDA approved stimulant medications reverse the neurotransmitter deficit found in ADHD patients, enabling them to function at normal levels. In fact, all clinical studies show that ADHD patients, who receive stimulant treatment, are far less likely to develop substance abuse disorders. This is because those who are not properly treated often self-medicate with other (and often illicit) substances for the purpose of alleviating ADHD symptoms, which actually does lead to substance abuse disorders. Severe ADHD, when untreated, can be extremely disabling affecting almost every aspect of one's life. It is extremely unfortunate that patients, and parents of children, with ADHD are confronted with social stigma about taking their prescribed medication, to the extent that many will discontinue treatment because of this. About half of those patients will eventually end up with a substance abuse disorder because they ceased the approved medication which made them better. In this way, the quite prevalent social stigma, regarding ADHD meds, often creates a self-fulfilling prophecy for addiction and harm. Failure to take prescribed medication can have devastating consequences, in ADHD patients, to the same degree that amphetamine abuse can have devastating consequences in an otherwise healthy person. Education is the antidote to ignorance, and the chain of responsibility begins with prescribers who miserably fail to inform patients, and parents, about these facts. Media is hugely at fault for planting seeds of fear, and perpetuating social stigma, by not providing complete and accurate medical reporting. Patients, and especially parents, need to take a proactive role in seeking more than one opinion before accepting an ADHD diagnosis. Although the symptoms of ADHD often appear as behavior problems, ADHD itself is a neurological developmental disorder. Would anyone be so quick to suggest that perhaps a heart patient should not be taking their lifesaving heart medication? Concerns about ADHD meds should be aimed at reducing the amount of fraudulent submissions for ADHD diagnosises, reducing the amount of incorrect diagnosises, and removing the stigma associated with ADHD treatment. Fraudulent and inaccurate diagnosises can be reduced by increasing the use of neurological diagnostic imaging, verification of reported symptoms through historical and official documentation, and hair follicle testing of children to ensure that parents aren't selling, or taking, their child's medication. It is so sad, and unnecessary, to see people suffering in these situations when treatment is available. Let's learn to help instead of harm! Thank you for reading about how to save lives. Shout out to Midtown, my forever home!
ОтветитьHe is gna be a strong man…if he hears his dad…there is no such thing as a bad kid just bad parents…his dad seems good…he has limits tho

I know will, all of this is accurate. I never really knew why he was the way he was but, I guess he didn’t trust me enough to open up like he did in the documentary. Makes me sad but what’s past is in the past. Hopefully he’s happy wherever he is.
ОтветитьH Town has always been off the chain. There’s a reason they call it the dirty south. I feel really bad for everyone that’s caught up in the madness of H Town and tries to make it out but can’t. I feel lucky that I did.

ОтветитьCity of lost souls. Born and raised from 1972...lived the club life through the late 80's and the 90's during my teen years. I've since cleaned up the past 15 years, but i will always call Houston my hometown. Great documentary/movie,very true stories from many points of view.

ОтветитьHouston, Africa.
ОтветитьLike any place, Houston is what you make out of it. I've lived many lives here. If you are here and you think that moving away will make things better, you are wrong. Everything you need is here. When you move away, the first person you meet in the new place is yourself, so in a sense you are still in the same place. Houston has many opportunities. Instead of running, fix yourself and doors will open up for you. It's a huge city. Just move across town. You can drive from one corner of the city to the other for like an hour and you are still in the city. If you can't make here, you won't make it anywhere.
