Hours of service are ok the way they are and you know it. Instead of solving the problem right where it begins (and ends) at the first place you come up with new rules every few years that doesn't help at all. The day you'll REGULATE THE SHIPPERS AND RECEIVERS will be the day when you'll solve all of the issues regarding trucking and that includes HOS. Drivers (and companies) don't mind waiting hours picking up and delivering load when they'll know for sure that 1st minute after 2nd hour they wait, they'll be paid fair amount of 💰. Regulated companies will know that they should not keep the truck waiting hours to load/unload cause it will hit their pocket. Drivers will be happy knowing that they won't lose a load because of slow shippers and receivers.

Why do they not go back to 8 hours in the bunk you can ask just about every drivers and they will tell that they don't need 10 hrs most drivers use 6 to 8 hrs. As for the half hour break as a season driver we are stopping for short breaks through the day so there is no need for 30min breaks
