NEW Astro A50x Headset Review, FINALLY UPDATED!

Just to be clear, when I'm talking about sound, yes that is the same great quality across all platforms. The only downgrade in sound is if you run USB only.
PS: I know the new consoles don’t have optical, my point on the optical, was simplicity.

does the headband click out. because Ive owned 2 pairs of A50s and on both of them the headband stops locking into place. Slipping out when on my head.

If I currently want to run sound to my speakers when the headset is off i would need to plug my speakers directly into the monitor, correct? Right now i have the Nova Pro Wireless and i can plug my PC speakers into the station so when i play my PS5 and im not using the headset the sound comes out through the Computer speakers. Can something like that be done here?

the setup gives imput lag?

Anyone know if you connect it directly to the Elgato will it capture chat and game audio?

I really hope its updated really good. I bought the original ones and boy they suck. For what I paid $300 it has too many issues to justify that price.

A40 x ? I’d like to see them update the a40s with the same drivers as the a50s and just keep the price the same as the original a40 that won’t happen tho

Can you give me some advice on setting up arctis nova pro wireless setup on ps5.can’t get them to work the way I need them too.

So wait, you have to have the base station nearby to use the Bluetooth? That's such a disappointment. I was going to take these with me to college for when playing on my laptop but im not gonna bring the whole dock.

I fixed the problem of having a PC setup in one room and my Series X in another room with the A50. Super easy. I got myself a second pair 😊 I just love these. Too bad the A50X are not Bluetooth without the base involved. That's a big let down and the reason why I won't consider upgrading.

Question, I currently have the A50 Gen 4s. I stream and play on xbox but I set up an audio extractor with the optical port so my headset can be plugged into my PC and can still hear game sound and use my party on xbox game bar. Can you still hear PC audio while the base station is set to Xbox or PS?

can you still receive 4k 144hz image through this station???

Might have to grab these at some point. I have a dongle switch that is irritating to use to re-pair my current headset constantly between pc and console. If these can do that seamlessly and still allow for 4k pass through then I think these will be my next move. That price tho.. I hope they go on sale soon

They didn’t use the optical audio port bc the new consoles don’t have it anymore (at least series x doesn’t)

I know they’re popular for having the charging stands. But I don’t think I’ll ever buy another headset that doesn’t have swapable batteries. It’s so convenient. I have friends with astros and they’ve told me they didn’t set them correctly so they didn’t charge over night nor their pet knocked it over

Im confused. How did you get your A50 X? I check the Astro website daily, but it keeps stating that they are "out of stock" or "coming soon."

Cant even use these with audio control boxes like Go xlr or el gato wave its BS ill just keep my Astro A 50's 2019 version with my optical port

Got mine and i am very disappointed. It kept cutting in and out not like sound but there was like a small muffle when it cut in and out. I will be returning mine.

So do the new A50X require that adapter box in order to connect them to the ps5 like the old a50? The older ones I had to go and buy that extra adapter in order to even use them for my ps5 which was pain because you practically had to use all the USB slots on the PlayStation.

Just got this new beauty but I have a slight noise in the background as soon as I switch the power button on. It doesn’t sound like anything’s broken but it bothers me because my old a50 doesn’t have it and obviously because of the high price. Anyone else that has this problem?

I appreciate this review. I had the last gen a50s for three or so years and they just died on me randomly. I've been on Corsair Virtuoso since but I've really missed my a50s as the virtuosos have a lot of issues with wireless interference as well as letting a lot of cross sound in. I'm pretty much sold on the a50x despite the high price tag now

Thanks for the incredible review, I WILL DEFINITELY STAY WITH MY ASTRO A504gen, (I can change the cable with my own hand). Yes, they are cool, but that big change in the charging base is not worth 700 dollars

I was adamant about getting the new A50x when it came out but I saw the normal A50’s on sale and I snagged them up immediately. I only use PC and have been very very pleased with the quality of sound and hardware from my A50’s. I have 0 use in using the pass through as I own no consoles and personally hearing this makes it sound like they are the same as the normal A50’s. Pleased I only bought the A50’s and I appreciate watching this video as it made my decision more justified. Thanks for doing the review :)

I still have a brand new in the box set of A50s afraid of them being bricked by the base station like my last 2 pairs. I wonder if that's been fixed or not. I'll sell those old ones and upgrade.

I have the old A50's and a 4k 120hz passthrough. Are the new ones a drastic upgrade from that?

No ANC for that cost...is a big Fail for me..if they had ANC I would be all over it

Key issue, can you have ps5 and PC audio AT THE SAME TIME! for some reason no company makes this a thing.

Does anybody know if I can hear my PC audio while I play on PS5 with the A50X? I am able to do this with my A40 Mixamp. Any help would be great!
