Camden Passage: note it's not in Camden. Most toursists have no interest in going to Angel.
Dark Sugars: nope this isn't where we go, it's as alien to us, as it is to you. I've been there once.
Camley Street Park: true, most Londoners don't go here and it's a good nugget of info, but that's because they go to a more vast nature when need be - like Richmond park, Hampstead, Hackney Marshes etc.
ROH: it's world famous, as is RAH. We know more niche places.
Peckhamplex: it's cheap and a hole. Go to Genesis instead, you can thank me later.
It's good to know we still have our 'places' to ourselves 😋
that chocholate shop looks great
ОтветитьSecret corners of London presented by an American. I’m sure there’s some irony in here somewhere
ОтветитьQuite an unfair video because it’s an Ad. These are THE most touristy places.
Ответитьstill got it, baby
ОтветитьDo you recommend any art classes/craft workshops?
ОтветитьHidden Gem ! Green Lanes in Harringay, just up the road from the Square Mile. Go past the Green Lanes rail station and your into little Turkey. Food in the restaurants is amazing and the fresh cake shops irresistible. And it's less than HALF PRICE of anything your find up in the city.
ОтветитьWow! Fantastic and amazing! London has more to offer than meets the eye. Very useful information. Thank you.
ОтветитьYou just walked past my house
ОтветитьWhen I miss London, I watch your channel. ❤
ОтветитьYou are a tourist in London as well, darling.
ОтветитьHi Jess! I went to Dark Sugars on Brick Lane! WOW! 😋 The absolute exceptionally BEST hot chocolate imaginable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks ever so much for the suggestion! 🌹 Your tips are always spot on!
thanks for this. I will be back in May or June and will check it out. I was there in May this year and found the Candem one. i would rather be a local than a tourist. Thankyou for all the great content.
ОтветитьSo in order to screw Londoners over for you viewership (with complete and absolute disregard) to the simple fact that all over the world cities are screaming to lower the number of tourists to bring back sanity, peace from LOUD people, a place just for themselves; you sold then out.
ОтветитьThank you so much for your channel! It was one of the channels that helped to make my first ever trip to Europe last April such a success. I absolutely loved London thanks to you! Also kudos to the advice about using my own credit cards! Didn’t need to purchase any type of card to put money on and use there. My cards and Apple Pay were all I needed except for a few merchants that only took cash, of which $200 pounds was more than enough cash for a week!
I noticed in this video you blurred a lot of people’s faces. How do you usually go about getting permission from people? Do you make a general announcement and ask if anyone doesn’t want to be filmed, or do you go up to each individual that was in the background and ask them if they are ok or not with being filmed?
Dark Sugars is my favourite place for hot chocolate, hands down!
ОтветитьHi Jess - I know this is not really relevant to this video content but I wanted to share for other viewers. I have just traveled from London to Paris and Brussels to London via Eurostar trains. I was in Standard Premier class (right in the middle). Everywhere I read that I would be able to access the Eurostar Lounges in the train stations using my Amex Platinum. However, when we tried to enter, we were told that, although Amex Platinum cards do entitle holders to entry, if the card is issued in the US they will not let you in. Just want to give others a heads up! Thanks for everything you do!!
ОтветитьJess, were you born in London? Thank God you do not speak with a heavy British accent that takes me time to adjust my ear to. But instead you sound more American and you are easy to understand! I’ll sooo come to that Dark Sugars place😋🍫thank you for the lovely video!
ОтветитьDo you have any videos that include the Lasson Grove area? My original Airbnb was canceled and on short notice I found one in Lasson Grove, but it looks a little sketch.
ОтветитьBrick Lane in general for some of the best food in London- it is a city that runs on curry (at least late at night). Also London has loads of amazing museums, but few people know about the Sir John Soane's Museum. It is just an amazing collection of "stuff" of one of the great collectors of Georgian England.
ОтветитьNot only am I born and bred in London but work in Kings Cross and I’ve never heard of Camley St Park! Great find, Jess 👍🏼
ОтветитьGlad you included the chocolate 🤎
Ответитьugh how come nobody told me about dark sugars... do they ship to USA?
Ответитьthanks a lot
ОтветитьBike Shed is another cool spot if you're into motorcycles.
ОтветитьHello, My journey is still forming. I wonder where can I find a not well knowed public, outdoor, free of charge attractions and points of interests. For example: Lewisham's Micro Library (Phone box with books) Mr. Bean statue at Leicester Square, Mini Big Ben Tower close to Victoria Station, Platform 9,3/4 at King's Cross station, Nothing Hill Book Shop (and other movie locations, 007, Bank Job, Sherlock Holmes ,Lock, Stock And Two Smoking , Sherlock Pub etc.) HMS Belfast, Museums without hype (Transport Museum) interting buildings, squares (Chinatown) What could you suggest, or do you have a such kind of video in this topic from before? Many thanks for your help
ОтветитьYou should have added the Mercator bar and food complex near the Brixton academy in Southwark, not far from the shard.
ОтветитьGreat video! Jess - I absolutely LOVE your jacket - where did you get it? I'm planning to return to London in 2024 (May - June) and I LOVE these suggestions - thank you! I fell in love with London when I was there in May 2023 and I can't wait to return!
ОтветитьOh wow - that 1969 London Tube map! I would love to see that. My first visit to London was in June 1971 and when I returned this year for the first time since that trip, it took me a little while to adjust to the Tube because it seemed A LOT more complicated than it used to be. Of course that didn't surprise me because a lot can happen over the course of 50 years, but I wondered what it looked like back in 1971 and you just happened to find the map!
ОтветитьThanks! I’m going to check out Camden Passage and Dark Sugars when I go in November! 🇬🇧❤
ОтветитьI know all of these apart from Camley Street Park.
ОтветитьHi Jess
May i say, you must be one the most beautifulest ladies in London! If not England! ❤x.
Thank you.
ОтветитьCan’t understand why you never tell tourists to go to London’s largest forest I.e Epping Forest all 6000 acres with so many myths and haunted sites. Also Dick Turpin’s favourite site
ОтветитьGreat Tips Jess!
ОтветитьThat's very good. Nice to Show us this Places. Thank's
ОтветитьGreat video! Dark Sugars was on our list to visit last summer but we never made it. Maybe in December! P.S. That Canon camera looks really neat...great form factor and clever features in a small package.
ОтветитьI absolutely love this vid!!! I want to duplicate hitting up these spots on my next trip to London!!!
ОтветитьIt’s funny that you mentioned visitors don’t often come to Islington, well guess what I’ve just arrived yesterday and I’m in Islington 😅. Btw another great video, thanks Jess!
ОтветитьIt might be interesting to showcase hidden gems in north west London. Wembley stadium is such a huge draw for football fans and international matches, and the general feeling is there's nothing else out there in that part of the city.
ОтветитьGreat video. I visit London once or twice a year and there's always something new to discover. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing these hidden gems Jess , I’ll defo pop round when I’m in town , Cheers ..! 👍🏻
Ответить[takes notes] Thanks!
ОтветитьThe chocolate drink was a cardiac arrest in a cup !! But looked good though...
ОтветитьI'll be visiting London in October as a solo traveler and I'm finding your videos very helpful!
These places are beautiful, I'll definitely check them out! ❤
I love London and as a tourist I came so many times but every time I saw always the same things.. until i found your channel!! ❤ if you can do a video about all the places family friendly would be great!!! 😅
ОтветитьWow Camley Street Park looks fantastic, how did I not know about this? I love Coal Drops Yard and had no idea this was here 😊
ОтветитьLove the look of Frank’s Cafe in Peckham, will have to pay a visit there.👍 thank you Jess.
