I’m Dutch and this is the first time I saw someone put Nutella and hagelslag on one piece of bread
ОтветитьOh boy i will be in Amsterdam in 10mdays. I hope my gut can take the foods..
ОтветитьI am from the Netherlands, and we are a very multi-cultural country, growing up my friends or classmates from example, Surinam, Morocco, Turkey, Antilles, China always made fun of the Dutch cuisine and this is a common thing for every Dutch person I believe. So us Dutch people never really dared to be proud of our food cause we are always being mocked for having no flavor. My honest opinion is that our snacks are amazing, but the main dishes are a bit on the basic side. Which is not a bad thing at all. But we were always told we and our food are boring.
ОтветитьTry Indonesian/Surinam in NL: excellent food!🤗
ОтветитьDutch food or dishes is not only bitterballen ,cheese and stampot.
Its also Hachee and Indonesian food!!
I went to Amsterdam a while back (around 2010) and I loved it! I remember an abundance of root vegetables and amazing cheese (I love the one with cumin seeds ❤), as well as dark/brown breads. I don’t remember why but both evenings I spent there we ended up having dinner in a great Portuguese restaurant 😂 the food was good, the waiters were friendly, shame I didn’t save the name. Anyway, next time I’ll look for traditional Dutch options, although for someone who doesn’t eat pork and doesn’t like raw fish that might be a challenge 😂
ОтветитьDid you enjoy a rijsttafel?
ОтветитьNever heard Nyone do njtella and hagelslag together. It should be Peanutbutter and hagelslag 😜

ОтветитьRaw herring is something that a lot of people in Finland have on their Christmas tables, but also at the same time, it’s widely eaten during summer especially with new potatoes. 😂
ОтветитьGrowing up in the Netherlands and not liking smoked sausage, herring or any variation of stamppot was a struggle hahahaha. Poffertjes and bitterballen though ❤❤❤❤❤
