Many landmarks were built at the orders of kings and emperors. Some took decades or even centuries to finish at the expense of enormous taxpayers' money and human lives. Ironically, without those kings and emperors, many grandeur landmarks would not exist.

It just boggles my mind that centuries ago that there was such artistry and people that could paint and design such palaces as these. Just breathtaking.
