How different is this game?

I didn't think FF could fall further than FF15. Oh how wrong I was. The story is interesting enough but the combat is trash, and for an exclusive game its very poorly optimized. I miss the real FF, not this Devil May Cry crossover bs.

Maybe make it souls based. Introduce the parry element from sekiro with the clang so it's not just endless mashing. Use the day/night mode from FF15 but make it much better. Keep the fishing from FF15 too, also the cooking etc maybe with the hunting from RDR2. To cope without a world map like the old games, make several maps which represent each continent on the world map which you can travel between. Maybe divide the map into easy and hard areas like MW3 zombies but which move randomly. And make the maps much bigger, not just 20 metres from the road to the map edge like in FF15.

Worst entry of the series after XIII. So sad in such wasted potential

Best FF game since IX imo. The combat gets a bit repetetive and spamming the same moves constantly but other than that its fantastic. This really is the best ff game in about 20 years

Finally got around to it and I seriously have to say this game is boring af all it is is walking from battle to battle with nothing in between it’s almost like a joke there’s nothing there it’s so repetitive I have zero desire to play anymore of it really and reading threads in Reddit I’m not the only one pretty disappointed I pad money for this tbh

I feel like the fights are brain dead because it's just button mashing nonstop until the guy is dead and you can spam the dodge to never die. Also the bulk plotline and lines are cheezy and sometimes don't even make sense.

For once I'm watching before I buy. Yay me.

If Final Fantasy 14 had this type of action combat, I’d be playing it.

Well 6-7 minutes in you completely convinced me not to get this game. Everything you went over is not making this to be the final fantasy game i was looking for. Ill wait for the next FF7 (Rebirth or whatever its called) as i really enjoyed those.

Been playing since Final Fantasy 10 and only skipped 14. Just got this on sale for $42 cuz when I saw the $70 price tag on release I was like "No way this is worth $70" and I was right. It's a decent game, but not $70 decent.

As if they are just working on graphics and the essence is hollow only speed and flashy moves but the thing is a cool simple equipment strategy screen that matters in game not use any item and it would be the same why bother then


Ff15 is a disappointment that i had alot of ups to it


I think ff16 the same maybe a little better

I hope modern games ditches the graphics and work more on the strategy and the game play environment and gameplay

I confess It is a hard industry many consumer diverse tastes

But they should stick to the essence of gaming challenge and strategy like each move and setup makes a difference

Soooooo The Witcher + Devil May Cry. There's nothing that really shows this is Final Fantasy - just mediocre hints.. Final Fantasy isn't Final Fantasy without women. Slowly but surely the summons are becoming obsolete. Remember when we had good shows to watch and real video games? sighs...

FF7 and Crisis Core FF7 were my first FF games. I bought this game yesteday and started playing. I was annoyed in the beginning because it was more of cutscenes than gameplay, but i’ve just passed the tutorial and the intro has me hooked already. I’m looking forward to where the game goes. I just wish the performance was much better.

This is not Final Fantasy, this is monster hunter fantasy, collecting jinchuuriki... 🤣

This is the worst game I’ve played in years. Boring and ZERO customizable aspects. It’s just easy and for some reason there two dudes kissing at one point so not a fan of that either.

This game is 3 star out of 10. Interesting lore n story but the side quest are dull n lifeless. Most of the side quest are full of fetch quest..they are even in the main story. The fighting is fun but gets boring after the first boss fight. Music is repetitive n exploring is non existent. The loot system is -0. No incentive for exploring or competing side quest. Ff 16 makes ff 15 10 out of 10.
The boss cinematic battles are really cool.

To be honest. I’m few hours into the game. And the amount of cutscenes vs actual gameplay is frustrating atm

I have not played FF16 yet I'm currently playing Stranger Of Paradise which is in fact my very first FF game ever. FF16 world resembles Dragon's Dogma.

This doesn't look like open world.

I would pay a lot for an old turn based Final Fantasy game, like FF6, or FF3 in the US. I feel like that was peak FF. I have a hard time getting into these more action based FF games. I feel like there is more strategy involved than these action hack and slash button mashing action FF games. I mean there is still strategy, but i like to take my time picking who to fight, and adding up how many hit points different enemies have left to know how many attacks I have left to defeat a foe.

You can still do that, but when youre attacking like 5 enemies at once, you can barely even read how much damage you are doing over all the slicing and exploding/magic effects while the camera whips around like an epileptic in a microwave.

Maybe if I had never played the originals I would have more respect for these newer games. I just kinda gave up even giving them a try.

I miss final fantasy.

So basically this is the final fantasy I've been waiting on not a rurn based guy i live games like Ninja gaiden DMC and Bayonetta guy fast paced amazing combat guy if a game has amazing combat much else doesnt matter

Love the beginning but the middle felt like a filler... Wish every fight with GIF was like the first the wind woman... But when I fought the titan I didn't fight the big guy thought it was going to be like a god of war fight scene but instead we fought some random guy 😢😅
