I didn't know the back story to McDonald's and just saw this scene first and thought it was a movie about the founder watching his business flourish. Then watch the movie and found out how the real founders were basically token advantage of for being native and robbed of their fortune.
ОтветитьThe days before gps when getting lost was actually considered fun. It was just apart of the trip.
ОтветитьBack then a Hamburger combo was 35 cents, today it $13 dollars.
ОтветитьThis whole film is just McDonald’s wanking off to itself
ОтветитьMilkshake Machines work everywhere except in America.
ОтветитьThe way he said “where do I eat it?” and bro replied with “in your car..” as in like “this wigga serious”
ОтветитьWhen he sits at the bench and looks around, you can tell that he's really skeptical of the quality of the food and sniffs the bag lol
ОтветитьHey beats me because my grandpa bought root beer for $0.10 can you believe it😮btw it was in the '80s
ОтветитьWhile McDonald's would not be the empire that it is today without Ray Kroc, man was that guy a colossal sociopathic a-hole. Unfortunately to reach those heights in terms of business success, you almost have to be. You can't care how many people despise you or how many people's necks you have to stand on to get what you want
ОтветитьI eat McDonald's every time I watch this movie. For some reason I just have to and it makes it taste 10 times better.
ОтветитьIf you remember having to put change in a phone for 2 mins to complete a call raise your hand.
Now if you remember buying a hamburger, fries and a drink for 35 cents just blink if ya can.
35 cents , f**k now it’s like $35 bucks😅
Ответить35 cents for combo
ОтветитьI wish i can visit usa and try a real burger meal combo
ОтветитьSuch a good movie! Made me hate McDonald's even more than I already did.
ОтветитьDoes this movie tell how this franchise goes on to be one of the biggest modern slave corporations in world history? No it doesn't. I remember working for McDonald's in high school and I was getting 3.21 an hour. Looking forward to my first raise. Two fucking cents an hour. I was the night manager. Two fucking cents!
Ответить35 cents for a full meal 💀
ОтветитьIn the car, in the park, at home, my ass. Wherever you like.
ОтветитьReal food back then. Cheeseburger, fries, & and drink for 39 cents...39 fucking cents and the US coinage were made out of silver and copper!
And the Gold Standard was alive and well!
Interesting that he didn’t believe his secretary about the amount of the order. She was telling the truth, he was dismissive of her. He could have said, « 6 really, let me check that out! » I bet that’s what really happened.
ОтветитьHis acting was so phenomenal!!! I’ve watched this movie three times now!!
ОтветитьThus begins America the Obese!
ОтветитьA lot of McDonald's take a lot longer to have your order ready these days...
ОтветитьThe most unrealistic thing about this scene is not the fact that he got his whole order for less than a dollar, but that the woman let her kid sit next to Ray.
Nowadays the parent would definitely sit in between their kids and the stranger.
Movie narrator: ",...and thus, a world of unhealthy fast food was born."
Ответитьthe beginning of obesity
ОтветитьThe mom sitting on the bench, fake eating the burger, not once but twice really annoyed me for some reason...same with the kids. I get continuity for filming scenes but it still struck a nerve lol
ОтветитьWhy did he use a map and not GPS? Is he stupid??
ОтветитьWhat is interesting is McDonald's today is slower than ever. After i paid for an order at their self order system it took 28 minutes.
Big Mac small fries medium coke and small hamburger to eat in their lobby..
4 cars in the drive thru..1 other person inside. 330pm Friday.
Its only the 2nd time going to McDonald's on 2023.
Maybe in a decade it will take 40 minutes
.
Kroc the crook!
ОтветитьThis is the most strangely wholesome video ive seen in a long time
ОтветитьKeaton is just plain good at his craft, the guy never played a bad part, authentic as they come, always been a fan
ОтветитьMichael Keaton playing a guy named Kroc... While probably unintended, it seems a LITTLE on the nose.
ОтветитьWho’d have thought you’d see Batman eating a McDonalds
ОтветитьRay Kroc was a piece if shit, but he knew what they had when they didnt.
Ответитьwere shorts so short in the 50's?
ОтветитьIt's just funny hearing the guy say, "Hi, welcome to McDonald's. May I take your order?"
For us, it's something we've heard a thousand times before, but it's the first time anyone in this scene is hearing it.
Now they pay them $15 an hour and they’re slow, lazy, incompetent and not even friendly. Oh and everything is pretty much automated and comes out tasting like garbage.
ОтветитьIt's too bad that nowadays, getting this kind of service is completely gone even in fast food places, because of how complex the menu has become. Ray Kroc and the McDonald's brothers did have one common value and interest: simplicity. Despite their conflicts, they believed in the philosophy of simplicity. McDonald's ever since their passing have lost their edge in service as this whole setup was made for a simple menu more than anything, not the rubbish they keep adding.
ОтветитьThe woman with the fake bites makes me laugh
ОтветитьI once had a friendly experience like this at a fast food restaurant back in the year never.
ОтветитьFounder movie was good! I get to know why McDonald's invented!
ОтветитьDoesn’t he play vulture?
ОтветитьWon't buy from McDonald's ever.
ОтветитьBurger, fries and coke for 35 cents? damn i wanna go there so bad
ОтветитьWhen Batman says "I'll take drive through."
ОтветитьHow could you not see dollar signs experiencing McDonald’s for the first time knowing that it was unexploited.
ОтветитьGreat movie
