They were taken over by communism and retreated to the Taiwan island, 30 million civilians died from starvation after the communist take over. Taiwan has bounced back and has been stewing for 60 years waiting for that revenge.

the disadvantage of taiwan is their numbers itself. and unless taiwan turn to automation they might not even have the necessary manpower to successfully repel an invasion. and they need to do it fast and not just any type of automation it must be camouflaged or hidden or it will all be taken out by air in the first few hours of war.
