Headmaster Charleston, faculty members, fellow students, family and friends, welcome. We never thought this day would come. We prayed for its quick delivery, crossed days off our calendars, counted hours, minutes and seconds and now that it’s here, I’m sorry it is, because it means leaving friends who inspire me and teachers who’ve been my mentors, so many people who’ve shaped my life, and my fellow students lives impermeably and forever.
I live in two worlds. One is a world of books. I’ve been a resident of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, committed absurdities with Ignatius J. Reilly, rode a sad train with Anna Karenina and strolled down Swann’s Way. It’s a rewarding world, but my second one is by far superior. My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric, but supremely real, made of flesh and bone, full of love, who are my ultimate inspiration for everything. Richard and Emily Gilmore are kind, decent, unfailingly generous people. They are my twin pillars, without whom I could not stand. I am proud to be their grandchild. But my ultimate inspiration comes from my best friend, the dazzling woman from whom I received my name and my life’s blood, Lorelai Gilmore. My mother never gave me any idea that I couldn’t do whatever I wanted to do or be whomever I wanted to be. She filled our house with love and fun and books and music, unflagging in her efforts to give me role models from Jane Austen to Eudora Welty to Patti Smith. As she guided me through these incredible eighteen years, I don’t know if she ever realized that the person I most wanted to be was her. Thank you, Mom: you are my guidepost for everything.”
My equivalent to that speech was dedicating my thesis to my mother, I'm so lucky to have her
ОтветитьI was okay until Gilmore girls ended the comeback version of year in life really ruined it for me.. she really did become a bad version of her mother in the end.. honestly I don't see Rory taking care of her child like her mom did.
ОтветитьEven Luke was crying😭🥹❤️

Ответитьi’m sorry but IM BLUBBERING
ОтветитьWhich book is she referring to re “napoleon”? War and peace?
ОтветитьRory is so lucky to have supportive mother. Instead of taking advantage of her hierarchy as a mom, Lorelai supports every actions that her daughter wants to be.
ОтветитьI miss my parents they will watch me from above

ОтветитьEm que temporada é a formatura da Rory?
ОтветитьIf the show had ended with this episode, it would have been just fine.
ОтветитьKinda got spoiled so since I've heard enough I don't think I have the need to go on an emotional rollercoaster therefore I'm dropping this p.s I'm at S5 Ep 14

season?ep?
Ответитьi’ll cry every time i watch this without fail
Ответитьthis is me and my mom 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Ответитьit is a beautiful and clever speechh but the point that makes it so emotional to me, is when she mentions her grandparents and you know, there’s that proud look of approval from richard…….my parents never looked at me that way so ever time i see this scene i start crying like a tall child
Ответитьtip for anyone who has to do such a speech: take a few of the things Gwen Stacy said and mix them with what Rory says here, then change the names and you have the ultimate graduation speech
ОтветитьThis never fails I cry every time I watch this even though I've been watching this show for years!! Love this show so much.. 🤗♥️
Ответить🇧🇭🇧🇭🇧🇭🇧🇭🇧🇭🛫🌧🇱🇰🛩🏁
ОтветитьUm crying.
ОтветитьThis makes me cry no matter what 😭
ОтветитьAlways wanted to pay tribute to my mom on my graduation but I never got the chance💔
ОтветитьNo hay forma de que mire esta escena sin llorar. Simple y perfecta. Desde la mirada de Richard hasta la duda de rory “i don’t know if she ever realized that the person I most wanted to be was her”. Destruida en cuestión de segundos.
ОтветитьThis show is the only thing keeping me move forward in life 😭
ОтветитьI sob. Every fucking time
