Okay so this video is a bit old. I really don't hope that you recommend this any longer. I cannot seriously trust anyone with knowing anything about security when they come up with stupid concepts like their "Double VPN" and such. I was laughing my ass off while reading their description of this and then I closed the tab and found another provider.

The breech marked the end of my use of NordVPN…not because of the breech itself, but the delay by NordVPN in reporting it to subscribers. It was apparent that they sat on the knowledge of the breech for weeks before disclosing it to subscribers. That revealed they were more concerned about their own butts, than the subscribers to whom they had an obligation to protect.

Just started using NordVPN, I have noticed that w/o VPN my internet speed is 500 Mbps, with the NordVPN the speed is now about 50 to 55 Mbps. Is that normal?? Are their configuration changes that can increase the speed?

Ask NordVPN why its Android application needs so many permissions to run? The Android application of the VPN I use asks for and needs no permissions. Also, AirVPN does no advertising, owns no "review" websites, pays no "influencers" ... oh, and so much more.

It seems that for remote access a feature like nordvpn is needed. Does expressvpn and surfshark have this kind of feature?

If I understand it correctly, when I download linux ISO's with my favorite torrent tracker, NordVPN prevents my ISP from seeing my torrent traffic. They know I'm connected to a VPN server but they cannot see what the VPN server is connected to on the other side.

If the World's intelligence services are not behind the most popular VPNs then they are probably not doing their job. What better way to have all those that you want to spy on think that your product is making their communication safe.

It stands to reason that because the primary purpose would be to attract large volumes of people then they would offer best in class features at a knock-down price. But they probably cover all the basis, a cheap and cheerful, a high-end service and everything in between.

The good thing for Joe Average is that in order to maintain their cover they would have to allow all the low hanging fruit through so downloading porn and copyrighted material is not going to be a problem, unless that is you are political figure, and then the security services probably know everything there is to know.
